Batman Beyond 2.0
Batman Beyond 2.0 Chapter 12 is here! Kyle Higgins, the masterful Nightwing Scribe continues writing a great tale in the Beyond Universe, and this time we get the next chapter! It’s Terry and Bruce working together again, but that’s not all we see in this issue! This will be a SPOILER FREE Review!
In Chapter Twelve, we see Batman and Bruce Wayne fighting lots of Man-Bats… they’re everywhere and they seem indestructible! This Chapter, since I’m reviewing them as each digital chapter comes out, is mainly an action piece.
The Bat-Men “All Leather Wings” Part 4 of 7
So continuing from chapter 11, we start at the mayor’s residence. Where the Mayor has brought in the standard military guys, who want to go in shooting! However Babs buys a bit more time, seeing as she has three hours left within Langstrom’s deadline.
Writing:
Once you read this in Batman Beyond Universe, the print edition of these digital chapters. You will love how these two played out. I do as well, but I’m not going to have much to say about Kyle’s writing here. Simply because there was more action moments than actual dialog. I do love how Kyle is writing Babs, and the fact that she is still fighting for Gotham. I will say I hope this NEW Mayor gets off his high horse, and doesn’t fire Barbara. She has been the best Commissioner since her father James Gordon!
I know Kyle will reveal the ANSWERS we all want to know in time, but WE WANT ANSWERS NOOOWWWW!!!! With the way Terry and Bruce are towards each other it’s cool, but WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? Plus where is Dick Grayson in this chapter? Is he off trying to find another solution to the Man-Bat Problem? I will say of the dialogue at the Mayor’s place, and the stuff between Terry and Bruce it was all very awesomely scripted.
Art:
This chapter it’s all about the art! Thony Silas and Emilio Lopez rock it out on the drawings and colors. Once we get to the Bruce and Terry scenes it’s really DARK colors and that is great. Because well they are underground! I would like to ask Thony though, what is Terry shooting out of his wrists in the above image? Because I don’t see batarangs coming out. Ahh looking at the image again… it’s people FIRING on Terry ok.. then!
The contrasting colors from the blacks, blues, purples, to the browns, greens, and grays are all well done. I don’t think I’ve seen the Bat Beyond Universe POP this well before. Emilio Lopez is awesome on these colors!!!! I love what he did with the classic batarangs Bruce has very awesome!!!!
Final Thoughts/Rating:
Even though I am reading these digitally I do still get the print edition and reread them, because they are that awesome, and I like seeing the whole story in one shot. So……..My final thought is STOP READING THIS, if you haven’t already, and go get BATMAN BEYOND 2.0 Chapter 12. It’s the fourth chapter in this 7 part story within the Batman Beyond Universe, and you won’t wanna miss a second of it! You can find it on the DC Comics App or Comixology or wherever you get your digital comics. Batman Beyond 2.0 continues to go beyond all expectations!
