The Matrix Revolutions (Limited Edition Score)

Music from the Motion Picture Composed By: Don Davis

Do you take the BLUE PILL or the RED PILL? ENTER THE MATRIX! The Matrix Revolutions 2 Disc Limited Edition set from La-La- Land Records is here!! Let’s just see what the third film’s music gave us shall we? Here’s a review for that score!

Matrix Revol

FIRST OFF BEFORE I EVEN START this review I have to THANK La-La Land Records for sending this to me. I’m so stoked to hear the music from The Matrix Revolutions. So excited, and while listening it made me want to watch this film trilogy again.

SECONDLY: pay attention to the image below! If you are in the Burbank, CA area! March 1, 2014 there will be a CD signing for The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions! Details Below:

Revolutions is a two disc set holding a total of 29 tracks! Four of these tracks are bonus tracks on Disc 2. Track 1: “Logos / Man Title” is setting everything up, and i like how it starts off. Track 2: “Nothing But Blue Pills / AK, Cold And Mauser / Our Lit Ovens” continues where Track 1 left off as far as a slower tone to bring the listener in. Then it ramps up the action! Another of my faves is “Track 6: “The Smith Within Us” which is 6 minutes of Smith’s theme, and every moment of it is wonderfully ut together. Agent Smith always was a bad guy I really enjoyed! For the simple reason that in the first film you weren’t sure WHAT to believe. However by Revolutions you know he is evil incarnate! Track 14: “Niobe’s Run / The Breach / Boom Hilda” has some epic upbeat moments in it, as well as some slow tones. It gives you the sense of dread that the entire movie’s plot shows us.

Matrix Revolutions 1

While I do remember the films, it’s kinda clousy in my mind. As I stated earlier I think I need to go back and rewatch them again. For the simple reason that while I like Track 15: “Die Brünett Walküre / Mjolnir Mastication / Charra Broiled” … I don’t remember which scene in Revolutions that it is from. Carrie Ann Moss was amazing as Trinity throughout the trilogy, and Track 24: “Trinity Definitely gives her a theme that is worthy of Trinity’s kick ass nature. It is also a theme that shows us her softer, more caring side. All in all this set is amazing, and any Matrix Trilogy fan should really enjoy it!

Matrix Revolutions 2

That’s over TWO HOURS of mind blowing, emotional, awesome music from The Matrix Revolutions. I can definitely say that I enjoy most of the music here more than the Reloaded set. Thisa was the final film and the trilogy and the music lent itself to that. Nhot only do we have the end of Neo’s journey, but we also have the end of a masterpiece in filmmaking. What I love about these La La Land Records releases is the liner notes that come with the albums. Not only do you get cool images from the project, but you also get insights from the people crafting the music. That is just a nice little addition that this soundtrack company does!!

This gets a 5 outta 5 stars, because it’s just that damn great. Everything about this two disc set is wonderfully put together. From the art on the inserts, the booklet, the disc art. So happy that this has finally been released! You can get this awesome score from LA LA Land Records directly! You can also find the track listing there!
