  1. So sad to see this coming to an end. I’ve been following along and now you all have me super stoked for Hateful 8. I put my vote for the next retrospective for Hayao Miyazaki. He’s someone I don’t see anyone on your site talking about nearly enough. And if you are an animated fan you have to at least see Spirited Away once.

  2. I wasn’t a fan of Django the first time I saw it. Oddly the music thew me for a loop. Hip Hop in a western is a little much for me. After I got over that on a rewatch I actually enjoyed it a lot more. 8.5 is the perfect score.

I like the idea of doing Hayao Miyazaki as well. It’s different and you don’t see many people do retrospectives of animated directors.

  3. Just watched Django tonight for the first time, and although I am fairly satisfied with the movie, I feel like a few issues from it are going to make me itch if I don’t voice them.

I guess I’ll get right to the point. Why wasn’t this made into two movies? This movie seems like it could have been a complete parallel of the Kill Bill series. The first movie would involve Django and the Dr, completing more bounties together. Which was easily the best part of the movie, the Schafer(sp) brothers sequence was excellent, and I wished there would have been more of those type of scenes. It would have been fairly easy to add more bounties to the story while still driving the plot forward, but it seemed like Q cut it short.

Somehow this 3 hour movie felt rushed. A hard feat to accomplish.

The second film for me, would consist of the rescue of Hilde from Candyland. The time spent in Candyland could easily be its own film, as this felt like the most drawn out part in the film.

There were a few other things that felt off to me, but I’d rather not come off as a twat anymore then I already may. I’d love to hear some others opinions on what I’ve said, and I can be fairly certain this isn’t the first time they’ve been voiced here.
