  1. I listened to the podcast today and heard that you called me out to weigh in on the episodes, particularly A Beastly Sideshow and A Tale of Two Cities. I have been behind on listening due to school, but I’m catching up.

I thought, like you, that Quest for the Sword was the weakest of the three. I would rank it 2.5 Orkos, but the animation was terrible at times, which you captured in the screenshots listed here. He-Man’s expressions while pulling on the vine/rope were terrible I liked the plot of He-Man never becoming Prince Adam again, but that was about the only thing interesting in this episode.

A Beastly Sideshow was okay. I certainly didn’t like it as much as Mike did even though he and I often agree on episodes. It wasn’t bad. I liked that they addressed Beast Man’s inability to command Cringer. A good episode, but not a standout. 3 Orkos.

A Tale of Two Cities was the strong showing in this week’s episodes, IMO. I liked the way they began the episode with He-Man helping the woman. I didn’t see the lightning strike hitting the tree and knocking He-Man unconscious coming. We’re not used to seeing him get hurt. The animation on that wasn’t bad, and I liked the Gargons designs, as Kevin said. They fit in well with the MOTU universe. The evil characters were interesting, although it wasn’t good that the african-like characters were portrayed as evil. But I liked that we got to see two other cities on Eternia. I liked the concepts and the designs. The lake above the city was a nice touch too. Overall, I think this was one of the better episodes so far, despite the lack of Skeletor and his minions. 4 Orkos. Sorry, Mike. I think it was a better episode.

Also, with the PSA after A Tale of Two Cities, do you think it was intentionally done by the writer to encourage kids to read, like, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens? It seemed that is where that PSA was coming from and I didn’t mind it. He-Man was in an awkward pose giving it though. I loved the podcast. The format is great. You do a good job of producing entertaining shows, so keep up the great work!

    1. So glad you are enjoying the shows Tim! Even more glad you sided with me on this debate ;) Keep the feedback and responses coming!!

      1. Yeah, I like to be a part of the shows, so posting feedback here is one way I can feel engaged. As I said, school has been rough lately, so I fell behind after the holidays, but I’m catching up.

    2. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ETERNIAN ALE Tim!!!! Tale Of Two Cities is boring, lifeless, and RACIST! Beastly Sideshow is where the humor, character development, and awesomeness are!!!

As far as any 80s PSA of course they were all done intentionally. Whether it be about reading or not. We wouldn’t have the action cartoons of the early 80s without them.

      1. Regarding the PSA, I was trying to point out that the writer named the title of this one after the famous Dickens novel, so I was suspecting the PSA was encouraging kids to seek out the book because they watched a He-Man episode of the same name. That might be a stretch, but maybe not.
