Talking In Circles – Episode 44 – I’m on a Comet!

TinC-ipod

This week we are going back to the way things began and bringing back the instant classic game Fact or Fiction. It leads us to a lot of random conversation including what it really takes to break the internet, the deliciousness of apple pie, and why “Cold Cuts!” will never not be funny. All that and episode 12 of the Unknown Saga: Fight Night!

  1. I really like the Fact or Fiction segment you do. I know they do it on ESPN and stuff but putting on Geek twist on it is cool. I like having no idea what will be coming next.

  2. I have to disagree with Dan’s take on Interstellar strongly. I say it is Nolan’s best film. Not only that easily the best movie of the year no question. I love that he tried to tackle ideas that no one has ever touched before. I was hooked to every second of the movie. I never had an issue following what was going on or understanding what people were doing. All the actors gave great performances and I could not get the score out of my head. I have no idea why people are hating on Nolan so much lately. The dude is a genius.

    1. I think I have made my opinions known on the actual Review of the movie he posted. I don’t think it’s #1 on my list for the year but its heads and shoulders ahead of most of the crap I’ve seen this year!

      1. Guardians is my number 1 right now. Interstellar was good. Not as good as I was hoping personally. Little too dry for my tastes.

  4. Yea I got to agree with the cold cuts commercial. I love it. Puts a smile on my face every time I see it. Funny thing is I forget what it is even for. I keep thinking its for some sort of sports thing but then I remember its for Geico.

  6. Loved this episode of Unknown. Really action packed. I was on the edge of my seat

    1. Agreed. Don’t know what it was exactly but that sword fight was awesome. Great description and I could clearly picture it in my mind. Heart pounding stuff.

  7. So the question about the best Marvel cosmic character had me thinking. Silver Surfer actually has a good shot at it. I’m leaning towards Galactus but he is more of a force of nature than a fully formed character. Nova was mentioned as well but that is a character that is way too inconsistent. It was until Annihilation that anyone took him seriously. If you don’t go Surfer guess you have to go Thor or Thanos. Thor is somewhat of a cheat though since he is mostly earthbound.

    1. That is true about Nova. There have been years where he was a dud of a character, and the concept is a blatant rip off of Green Lantern. I still put the Nova series after Annihilation as one of my all time favorites though. Maybe I should have added the caveat Nova Prime to my statement.

    2. Thanos is a great choice as well. And when you have him and Surfer as bitter enemies you get some great stories

  8. Let’s not snooze on the Seahawks now. They might not be as crisp as they once were last year but they still have loads of talent. If they get on a role I could see them dominating in the playoffs again. I don’t see them going to the Superbowl but don’t be surprised if they make it to the championship game.

    1. They don’t seem like the same team though. I don’t disagree that they can turn it on and make a run. As a Giants fan I’ve seen worse teams do that lol. But if I was a beating man I would not take them to repeat or go far in the playoffs.

    2. I needed them to beat KC last week and they couldn’t pull it off unfortunately. You’re right still a lot of football left.
