TFG1Mike’s TV Series Thoughts – Dallas Then And Now

DALLAS THEN:

April 2, 1978 was the date that Dallas premiered its first episode. From that time until May 3, 1991 Dallas was one of the best, if not the best primetime soap operas ever. Dallas had charm, drama, action, romance, and so much more. With characters like J.R. Ewing, and his brother Bobby, Sue Ellen Ewing, and so many more. Dallas was a true legacy, and that legacy shall live on forever.

DALLAS NOW:

At first when I saw the mini teasers for the New Dallas, I was like noooooooooooooooooo not a reboot. As I found more video previews, and behind the scenes chat with the cast and crew, I was pleasantly surprised that Dallas 2012 is a continuation of the original series. Part of the marketing campaign was THE FATHERS THE SONS! Ewing Oil, Southfork Rach, and the old meeting the new. I absolutely love how John Ross and Christopher are all grown up. They have essentially filled their father’s shoes. Because like J.R. and Bobby, John Ross and Christopher are fighting over the Ewing legacy.

The pilot was amazing, and I can’t wait to see more of the series. I’m not gonna go into spoile territory in this, because I want you the readers, and TV watchers to watch Dallas! So you can see for yourselves that it is a truly great series. I’m so flad Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, and Linda Gray are back!!! The new cast plays their roles superbly!!! June 13, 2012 is the start of a new legacy!

Some people online are comparing this to the 90210 CW reboot, and I hate that! This is nothing like that.

I’ll be watching every Wednesday night on TNT for the continuing story of the Ewings, and Dallas!!!

    1. yes, but it is a DIRECT continuation from the original series. It is not a reboot.
