TFG1MIKE 365 – 2019 Day 36

Hello all and welcome to a NEW Daily Blog series from me… TFG1Mike! The idea here is for me to write something, anything, once a day for 365 days. From January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. In my 36th entry, I’ll be talking about the puzzle craze that swept the nation, back in the day. That would be PUZZ 3-D!
I’ve done jigsaw puzzles all my life not so much anymore, but when I was a kid… they were all the rage! Mainly and most likely the reason for that is that parents around the world back then, wanted to pass something onto their kids. Puzzles were the thing at the time. In 1991 the game changed though! Puzzles were no longer flat things you looked at on a table! PUZZ 3-D! took the world by storm! Every time I saw the ad on TV, I wanted all the Puzz 3-D sets. The sad thing is I don’t remember ever having one.
The coolest part of Puzz 3-D was that it was so different, it was building puzzles up, instead of flat. It was super exciting, and it felt like making model cars. The crazy thing is I was never into building model cars, yet I wanted all of the Puzz 3-D releases! When Hasbro bought out Wrebbit, who made Puzz 3-D, the one I absolutely wanted was Chicago’s Sears Tower. These “Tower” sets were released in 2006, and were meant to be the last of the line. However in 2011 the Puzz 3-D sets were revived by Winning Solutions, Inc., and they still exist to this day. I hope one day soon, I’ll see a new Puzz 3-D ad on TV. Until then, I’ll be happy with the memories I have of the product, and the sheer enjoyment knowing that they are still out there.
