Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Hello all and welcome to a NEW Daily Blog series from me… TFG1Mike! The idea here is for me to write something, anything, once a day for 365 days. From January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. In my 76th entry, I’ll be talking about St. Patrick’s Day.

“St. Patrick’s Day observes of the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The holiday has evolved into a celebration of Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, drinking and a whole lot of green.” – Quote from this article on HISTORY.com

Over the last 2 years, all I’ve seen about St. Patrick’s Day, is that it’s an excuse to drink alcohol all day. I’ve never really cared for alcohol, I’ve had it in the past, hell I had my first beer when I was six years old on my grandfather’s fishing boat! I’m not a drinker at all, but I have dabbled here and there. What interests me more about this day, is seeing all the celebration of Irish culture. The food, the singing, the parades, and so much more. If you think about it, this should be Kermit the Frog’s favorite day, because they make it easy to be green. We are just a few years away from the 60th anniversary of Chicago turning the Chicago River green every St. Patrick’s Day. We can all celebrate the day in our own way. Now who wants some green eggs and ham? How about you Sam I Am?!

What are your traditions on St. Patrick’s Day?  Let me know in the comments below.

Join me tomorrow morning March 18, 2019 as I’ll be writing about something!
