Funko Soda Saturday 3-11-23!
Hello all and welcome back to TFG1Mike 365! It’s Day 42 of 2023!!! New Year brings new hopes and dreams to all of us I think. In case you haven’t read any of my blogs before, you can find all the blogs over at FROM THE DESK OF TFG1Mike! Normally my goal with this series is to wake up each new day, and find something on the internet, or in real life to write about! Today it’s my first Funko Soda Saturday! I was not that into sodas at first, and I’ve got strict rules for myself in collecting them. However I will go on further in time, and break those rules! Because I’m writing this in the present (5-25-23) and posting it in the past, I now have 35 Funko sodas. However my Numbah 1 rule still stands, they are all characters that I love. I just love too many characters! My initial hesitancy on Funko Sodas was that they came in a CAN! Not a box where you could see the product! However with SODA DECKS from RocknRowe, I’m enjoying having the Funko Soda figures out on display! And he came up with a cool way to display the Funko Sodas, with his own design called Soda Decks! You can see examples in the photo gallery above! My other hesitancy with starting a Funko Soda collection was the characters looked all squished together, and I thought there was barely any cool details to them. Boy was I wrong.
Look at that detail on the Funko Soda Energizer Bunny CHASE! YES I wanted the chase version of this, since I already had the Funko Pop traditional character design colors! It’s NOT often that I want the Soda CHASES! The CHASE hunt is crazy!!! Most cases I like the common sodas over the chases, and I find it silly that people get frowny faces when they don’t get the chase!
For me with my now 35 sodas…. which was not the plan! Since they are called “SODAS” my thought was I’d have a “12 or 24 pack” of em…. Not 35, but here we are, and again it’s all characters I love. The image above shows my entire collection. I’m in the process of figuring out how I want to display them elsewhere in my apartment! I also tried my best to go after Funko Sodas that I didn’t have as Funko Pops, and I wanted to make the Soda Collection super unique. I’ve kinda strayed from that a bit, but the first ones I had gotten was the black light Bebop and Rocksteady! I really got it for Rocksteady because of the PURPLE!
So I did a thing…. I got a new display turntable, and it’s much larger than the last one I had. As you can see above and below…. I wanted to see how many Funko Sodas I could fit on it. 30 outta the 35 fit!!! I was actually surprised, and I think if I hadn’t put the Star Wars Sodas on there I could have fit more, but I could be wrong. The only reason why I say that is because the Star Wars ones have bases to them, and they take up more room!
