  1. This was a lot of fun. It’s nice to see an interview with an actor behind a fan favorite character where they completely embrace and appreciate their fans. He sounds like a really cool guy. It’s also really awesome that you were able to get the exclusive scoop on his potential return for Megaforce. It’s really encouraging to hear that he would return if asked no matter what. :)

However, with that said, I COMPLETELY disagree with the idea that most of the seasons post-Mighty Morphin era were duds. Heck, my absolute favorite seasons are post-MMPR and the only ones that I’d consider legitimate duds would be Operation Overdrive and Samurai. Even if you were to personally throw Mystic Force in the bad pile, how does three seasons out of thirteen equal “most?” Also, the MMPR era “had the best stories and writing?” Really? Because I’m pretty sure that most of MMPR, Zeo, and Turbo was a bunch of episodic monster-of-the-day fights that had no effect on the very thin overall plot with a rare multi-parter with an interesting story only every now and then. To be honest, the actual main plot didn’t start getting really good until the end of Turbo leading into In Space. In Space was definitely a very well written season, but individually, the rest of the Zordon era just doesn’t hold up as well. I know that I’d definitely rather watch SPD or RPM than MMPR Season 1, for instance. I respect that the Zordon era gave PR its start and I still have a fondness for it as a whole, but I’m not going to let nostalgia cloud my vision and dismiss most of the other later seasons just because Samurai is a really bad rush job. PR’s writing has only evolved and gotten better over time and by RPM, it was truly fantastic. The only reason that Samurai sucks so much is that they’re literally taking the Sentai scripts and translating them wholesale instead of coming up with their own story and characters so everything is really awkward and clunky. So please, don’t treat all of the other later seasons like they’re at Samurai’s level. Trust me, they’re much, MUCH better.

Was still a really fun interview, though. Looking forward to your possible Latham Gaines interview, as I LOVE me some Mesogog. :D
