Here it is at very long last…wait wrong franchise. Today I am finally getting my delayed review of G.I. Joe Renegades Season 1, Volume 1 to you the fans. First, I’d like to thank to our friends at Shout! Factory for providing us with this great review product.

To start out, I love the attention to detail that Shout! Factory puts into all of their products. This one not breaking the mold in that area one iota. Now those who have it now should take note that the G.I. Joe Retaliation $5.00 off is not valid with the moving of the film. That being said, on to the review.

Now the cover on this I feel captures the essence of the show on it perfectly.

As with most of the G.I. Joe DVD’s they all have the core characters in the frontline, usually or most always including Cobra Commander or Duke. I also love the slightly digitized look to the background meshing Cobra and Joe backgrounds.

THE MENU:

The Menu system here is quick and to the point which is again something I love that Shout! Factory does. Here it works and fits the essence of the show. It has a nice indented menu that matches the background. I like the character images that show up as well as the easy to read text.

AUDIO:

Audio for this season is as pure as the original release if not more. Between the crisp sounds of vocals, gun fire, explosions or music this shines.

VISUALS:

As far as Visual, the menu’s as stated above were cool. The overall visual quality was great and again as much cleaner than it’s TV counterpart.

OVERVIEW:

In my humble opinion being a fan of GI Joe, I would give this high ratings. I am not entirely fond of the aesthetics of the show but the images are clean which is more important to me. I would recommend this piece for any Joe fan out there as this series was short lived, it deserves a place on your DVD shelf.
