  1. I’ve talked about this episode a lot elsewhere but i guess i can say it all again here. This special is really fantastic. It’s an original plot for a Christmas Episode, while still including all the key Christmas elements. This gets the Christmas feeling down perfectly, especially with all the great jokes and awesome songs.

The plot is fairly complex with all the plot lines, but it all comes together perfectly, with the boys having to save Christmas and fulfill Phineas’ wish, due to Doof’s inator. The Phineas plot gives Phineas development and has a neat idea, Candace’s plot is nice, and the Doof plot is hilarious with how it’s just so…neutral to Christmas.

There’s a lot going on here but it works, and the final 10 minutes is really heartwarming and wraps everything really well. This just does almost everything right. I say almost because i have two nitpicks:

    1. The sort of arc with that one grumpy elf was a bit forced, It’s cute but not quite needed.

    2. Candace blaming Phineas for Danvile being labeled naughty was a bit much. Phineas could have bene sad without beng needlessly harsh. This is my biggest complain and sadly knocks down at least one point.

But even with that, I’m giving this a 9.5/10. It does everything right as both a P&F Episode, and a Christmas Special, and is honestly one of my favorites of all time now. I like it.

  3. I remember watching the promos for this episode before it premiered in 2009. I couldn’t wait for it to air because it looked like it was going to be a great episode, and it certainly did not disappoint. After watching it through the first time and finding out how Sal/Santa had planned everything to happen the way it did, I had to go back and watch it again to see it from a new perspective.

I really do love this episode, it’s probably my second favorite episode of all of season two, and in the top five of the whole series. It’s not just one thing about the episode, it’s everything taken together, from the story to the songs to the characters working together and all of them having important roles throughout the epidsode. Even the small gags and jokes all seem to work for me, from Ferb swinging through town like Spiderman, to Isa, Buford and Baljeet always talking in unison, to Perry’s gift from Doof that Monogram told Perry about in the beginning of season two, plus everything that you guys already mentioned in the podcast. Oh, and I always love it when the characters (of this or any show) get to wear different clothing than they normally wear.

As to your question about Jenny and Django, I had read that on the p&f wiki too, and I don’t recall any episodes where it was specifically mentioned that they are related. Maybe it’s just implied, or maybe I just missed it, I don’t know. They do dress alike though, at least in the Summer Belongs to You song. I’ll be on the lookout for any other episodes that they might appear in together.

  5. This episode creates a bit of a plot hole which comes up in season 4. Near the end of the series, Doofenshmirtz gives up his evil ways at the end of Summer (or rather, at the start of Fall). Why is he going back to his evil ways in the Winter?

    1. Not really. There have been plots in S2 where he wasn’t really being evil. like the whole evil love thing…. that turned out not to be that evil. and as he says here he doesn’t hate christmas he just has an intense burning indifference

      1. He put all of Danville on the naughty list. He nearly ruined a holiday for everyone in the city. What he did IS evil when he should be over it.
