Continuing the epic animated universe crossover. Bat Beyond 2.0 Chapter 22 picks up the pieces of where Chapter 21 left off, and Kyle Higgins makes up for punching me in the heart last issue. This will be a slightly SPOILER FILLED  Review!

Justice Lords Beyond Another World “Razor’s Edge” Part 6 of 8

It took me a week to write my review of the last chapter, because my heart was on the floor, and I just couldn’t get over what Kyle did with Terry. However with this chapter having been released, I’m so very elated at what Kyle has written to explain Terry’s “Death”

Between the lines of dialogue that T. and Dick Grayson have, and the explanation of visual cortex projections…. Kyle has done an amazing job of dealing with the fact that Terry OUR Terry aint dead. YAAAAYYYY! After he escapes we get back to the Batcave! Terry stumbles onto what LORD Batman was planning before his death…. A way to stop LORD Superman. As I’ve said over in my JL Beyond Reviews….. Both these writers are adding so much more mythos to the DCAU! It’s simply awesome, and amazing how well Kyle and Christos GET these characters! Within this chapter we see that T the JL Timeline Joker, isn’t as BAD as we are led to believe he is, and we also see here that this timeline’s Grayson is much more of a listener than we previously thought.

Even though my reviews of these comics do say slightly spoiler filled, I can’t and won’t spoil the ending to this chapter. It’s just too awesome, and you need to discover it for yourself. I’ll say this though Higgins keeps me on the edge of my seat. I can’t think of a single moment during his time on Bat Beyond, that I haven’t felt as if it was a bad issue. Sure there might be a few choices that others don’t like, or a few nonsensical things, but for me my suspension of disbelief is high on this. Because the writing is just that damn good!

Thony Silas and Emilio Lopez rock the art and colors as per usual. I LOVE a shot of L Bat Beyond later in the issue, and the backgrounds of this Neo Gotham continue to impress me. The art compliments Kyle’s storytelling so well. Just like Kyle has an ifinity for the writing Thony and Emilio are wonderful artists for the Bat Beyond Universe. My favorite thing about Terry being alive and figuring this all out is the art when he’s in Lord Batman’s Bat Cave! Emilio and Thony kept the fact that all the main colors turn purple when in the cave. I freakin’ love that nod to the show continuity!
