Justice League Beyond 2.0
Continuing the epic animated universe crossover. JL Beyond 2.0 Chapter 21 continues to expand on The Lord Superman Wonder Woman story. This will be a slightly SPOILER FILLED Review!
Justice Lords Beyond The Return of Wonder Woman “Dynasty” Part 5 of 8
I had no idea WHERE this chapter would go. After reading Chapter 20 and seeing the revelations there, I was so not ready for this chapter. This takes the DC Animated Universe and flips it on it’s head even more than the Bat Beyond title has. Specifically because of the JL stuff here. Lord Superman is married to our Wonder Woman, and they artifically have a child. That’s the basis of this story. All to create peace on their world. DAMN this entire storyline in JL Beyond 2.0 is a domestic violence case wating to happen. OR it’s a Domestic Violence Case with powerful beings. YIKES!!!
Writing:
Christos Gage continues to impress me with his world building inside the DCAU! I never thought I’d get into the JL digital title, and here I am in it til this arc ends at least. The writing is superbly done, and the character development is awe inspiring! Lord Superman even makes mention of Terry’s fate, from Bat Beyond 2.0 Chapter 21. I still have no idea what the heck will happen there. However here in this story Gage brings all kinds of emotion to the forefront as well as action packed battle scenes!
As a reader who JUST jumped onto this title, with this arc… I had no idea about the child Zod that the justice League took in. So that was a bit of a shock, but HOW Zod came to be… now that was a bit disturbing. It’s like Gage watching 20-30 episodes of Law & Order SVU. Because I swear this issue is a story right outta that TV show. Only it’s League-Lord style! This chapter wasn’t as heart wrenching for me as was Bat Beyond 2.0 Chapter 21, but I am truly loving the direction Gage is taking these characters in. honestly because I have NO Clue where he’s going with this story. That’s very refreshing, because in general anyone can predict certain storylines outcomes. But I am still on the edge of my seat here!
Art:
Dexter Soy is a master of making the DCAU in comics be as bright as possible, without turning it into the Zeta Project cartoon. Wonder Woman, our Superman, Bruce Wayne, Lord Superman… all have bright designs, and they look wonderful. I love the art in this chapter. From the design on Zod, to the other Justice Lords, to the backgrounds…. the colors all pop, and that is an awesome thing. I have yet even after reading this issue 4 times found anything in the art that turns me off to it. I mean JUST look at that WHABAMM in the image below. That is an awesome effect for Wonder Woman back handing Supes!!!!! Soy is killing it on this series!!!!!

MAN THESE ISSUES NEED TO COME FASTER!!!! I’m loving every aspect of both Bat and JL Beyond 2.0!!!! I hate this waiting around stuff!!!! Once again this team continues to do very well in this series. I don’t have more questions this time around as they are pretty much giving me all the answers so far. I am still wondering what the hell will happen next in this arc!? You should go get JUSTICE LEAGUE BEYOND 2.0 Chapter 21. This is the tenth overall chapter of the JUSTICE LORDS OF GOTHAM crossover! All within the Batman Beyond Universe, and you won’t wanna miss a second of it! You can find it on the DC Comics App or Comixology or wherever you get your digital comics. Batman Beyond 2.0 continues to go beyond all expectations!
