Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Bob Chapek announced at the D23 Expo in Japan 2018 that there would be a “Star Wars” themed hotel coming to the Walt Disney World Resort along with the new land in the resort’s Hollywood Studios park.

Guests staying at the hotel will be immersed in the “Star Wars” universe from the moment they arrive; your journey through space will commence as soon as you’re onboard the Starship and ready to head out on your exciting “Star Wars” journey. An opening date for the hotel has not yet been announced, but you’ll want to make your reservations right away so that you can be among the first to enjoy this immersive “Star Wars” experience.

According to The Orange County Register, one of two brand new attractions in the new land, Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, will let you finally fly Han Solo’s beloved ship. Your performance in the cockpit can earn you a reputation that affects the rest of your experience at Galaxy’s Edge. How fast can you make the Kessel Run? If you end up flying the Falcon like Han in this immersive world, someone in Batuu might have something to say about your capabilities.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

On the second of the two new attractions, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, enjoy a trackless ride that will carry you into an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Like Star Tours, your experience will be different on each ride, so you never know if you’ll be facing off against Kylo Ren or sailing past AT-ATs.
