In the past myself or MovieRevoltDan have had blogs dedicated to the Best Movie Scenes of a given year. I would like to carry on with that tradition here. However, as I was thinking back on the year I wasn’t satisfied with giving you guys simply my favorite overall scenes and instead decided to expand this idea to encompass a variety of ‘Movie Moments’. So without further ado, here are my favorite Movie Moments from 2015.
Best Fight:
Nominees:
Tyrannosaurus Rex vs. Indominus Rex
[Jurassic World]
Matt Damon vs. Space
[The Martian]
Brian Wilson vs. Brian Wilson
[Love & Mercy]
The Boston Globe vs. The Catholic Church
[Spotlight]
Winner:
Rey vs. Kylo Ren
[Star Wars: The Force Awakens]
Although not all of the nominees may be fighting in the traditional sense Kylo Ren and Rey are fighting in EVERY sense. I think the dynamic between the two of these characters is a huge reason in why The Force Awakens works as well as it did. Whether we are talking about the mind battles that are being waged during the interrogation scene or the lightsaber battle that occurs in the film’s climax, this was an ongoing fight that left audiences and fans wanting more. Luckily for everybody, this is a fight that isn’t over.
Best Ending:
Nominees:
Spotlight
[End Credit Fact Sheets]
Beasts of No Nation
[Glimmer of Hope]
Slow West
[Death Montage]
Danny Collins
[Doctor Results]
Winner:
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
I apologize in advance for coming across as a complete Star Wars fanboy but it’s hard to deny how excellently the ending of The Force Awakens was handled. In one scene they single handedly assured just as much anticipation for Episode 8 as there was for Episode 7, and that’s pretty impressive.
Best Musical Moment:
Nominees:
Pirates singing Nirvana
[Pan]
Andre’s Serenade
[Magic Mike XXL]
Fury Road Guitarist
[Mad Max: Fury Road]
Baby Doll
[Danny Collins]
Winner:
The Dance Scene
[Ex Machina]
Not much can be said that hasn’t already been said when it comes to the Dance Scene in Ex Machina. It is one of the most out of left field, catch you by surprise and leave you in stitches kind of scene you could possibly think of and is easily the winner here.
Most Ridiculous Movie Moment:
Nominees:
The Yell
[Jupiter Ascending]
The Casting of Chris Hemsworth
[Blackhat]
Kevin Nash’s “Dancing”
[Magic Mike XXL]
Every Moment of Hugh Jackman’s
[Chappie]
They gave this film the Green Light
[The Fantastic Four]
The Rock Piloting Everything
[San Andreas]
No One is Taken
[Taken 3]
High Heels
[Jurassic World]
Raptors and Bikes
[Jurassic World]
Winner:
The Bus Escape/Skyscraper Jump/Matrix Fight/Cast Escape
[Furious 7]
In other words, the whole film, Furious 7 wins this award. I mean honestly I could list 100 other moments from this one. The Rock watching his own game in the hospital, the cars jumping out of the plane, surviving driving off of a cliff, saving lives with memories, the Rock Bottom, etc. I don’t think anything is more ridiculous than The Rock busting out of that cast though. But hey, its a Fast and Furious film so it’s to be expected and I’m probably going to get hate for calling any of it ridiculous…it’s suppose to be, I forgot…
Best Movie Moment:
Nominees:
The Send Off
[Furious 7]
The Super Bowl
[Focus]
The Millennium Falcon Reunion
[Star Wars: The Force Awakens]
Concert in Detroit
[Straight Outta Compton]
Dinner Party Scene (aka The Hammer Scene)
[Avengers 2: Age of Ultron]
The Dancing Scene
[Ex Machina]
Death Montage
[Slow West]
The Standoff
[The Hateful Eight]
The Church Scene
[Kingsman: The Secret Service]
Winner:
Border Crossing
[Sicario]
No moment or scene in 2015 was handled better than the Border Crossing scene in Sicario. The way they crafted this scene would have had a comatose grandpa on the edge of his seat. The level of dramatic tension and uncertainty you felt was palpable to the point that you felt like you were in a car on that road observing what was going on. It was just another reason why this film was one of the best films of the year when all is said and done.
wow you HATE RACING films… nice to see F7 get some love.
Why do you say I hate racing films? Furious 7 only got one mention in a positive light…wouldn’t call that much love haha
because every time I have talked to you and cars or racing comes up briefly… you’ve always said you hate those kinds of films.
No i meant what on this list made you say that? Listing the multiple furious 7 moments under ridiculous? You have to admit those moments were pretty ridiculous man
I meant the fact that you even liked them enough to even list it lol

Nice list. The Border scene is fantastic that is for sure. One moment for Star Wars that has stuck out to me is the Ray grabbing the lightsaber. That and the Resistance battle are two of the standout moments for me.
Yea I love those as well…was worried I was including too many star wars moments overall so I cut myself off haha
