Tarah’s Oscar Predictions 2015

OscarsTonight is the night Hollywood and for those of us home eagerly look forward to! That’s right its Oscar Night again! From the gorgeous gowns and tuxes that celebrities will be wearing on that famed red carpet it’s all about just who will take home the hottest accessory of the night…Oscar!

Below our my own personal predictions for the most important categories of the night. Please note I have seen every single film I selected except for one (The Judge).

Best Picture:  The Imitation Game

This film faces some truly stiff competition from Boyhood and The Theory of Everything.

I enjoyed this film so much because it really did do justice to the character and showcasing an important relatively unknown aspect of World War II. Not to mention that Bennedict Cumberbatch did a phenomenal job portraying Alan Turing. I do however have sinking suspicion that Boyhood will take it home.

Actor in a Leading Role:  Bennedict Cumberbatch, The Imitation Game

To me their is no competition when it comes to who deserves this award. Hands down Bennedict did a fantastic job in this role and truly earned his nomination.
THE IMITATION GAME

Actress in a Leading Role: Rosamund Pike, Gone Girl

Rosamund Pike literally gave me chills for her role as Amy Dunne in the film adaption of Gone Girl. She was so spot on with her role and leaving the audience literally on the edge of their seats. If she does not take this home I will be very disappointed.

Actor in a Supporting Role: Robert Duvall, The Judge

Actress in a Supporting Role: Meryl Streep, Into the Woods

I had a really hard time choosing between Keira Knightley and Meryl Streep for this but my vote goes to Meryl. She did a truly outstanding job getting ugly for her role and of course charming the audience with her acting and singing.

INTO THE WOODS

Animated Feature Film: How to Train Your Dragon 2

There is no contest for me when it comes to this category. How to Train Your Dragon captured fans hearts when it first made its debut in 2010 and the sequel did not disappoint. It does however face a real threat from Disney’s Big Hero 6 which was also enjoyed by audiences around the world.

These are just my personal picks and it will be interesting to see how spot on I am. What are your picks? Post them below in the comments! Enjoy Oscar Night everyone with whatever you have planned!
