All right let me start this out by saying that I was NEVER a fan of this cartoon. It wasn’t MY Batman, and while Diedrich Bader is an accomplished actor in his own right. I only ever really knew him as Lawrence from Office Space, and Oswald from the Drew Carey show. After hearing his Batman voice once in the very first episode, I was not impressed. Brave and the Bold is a love letter to the Silver Age of Comics, where all kinds of stuff happens to Batman. I think another reason outside my not liking the voice for Batman, that I resisted this show for so long is that, I was not someone who grew up with comics. Let alone anything in the Silver Age.

BUT………I have since gone back and watched several episodes of the series, and it’s pretty good. Again not my Batman, but it’s not a bad cartoon series. I also went back to watch the episodes that the music on this 2 CD set includes. So I could hear it in the episode, then by itself on the discs.

I’m really enjoying these tracks from Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Each has aspects that I love to hear in a scored animation series. For instance the drum sequence in Track 6: Initiate Attack Sequence is friggin awesome, this music fits the animation, and the style of the show so well. It’s not surprising though that it does. Carter, Ritmanis, and McCuistion always bring their A games to scoring stuff. They each have their own style, yet they can combine their powers to give us the fans some great music! Batman: The Brave and the Bold is meant to be a BRIGHT and fun interpetation of the character, and while I prefer the darker tones in Batman animation. I did find myself enjoying several of the episodes that I did watch. Gentleman Ghost Busted is another track I really enjoy. It has cool Halloween type tones in it, while also having a few mysterious sounds.

I would say that if you are a fan of the show, then you will love the music done here by the Terrific Trio of composers. They each bring something to the table, that makes the cartoon even better! In total the set has 95 tracks with a list price at $19.98, that is a pretty awesome deal if you ask me.

What I love about these La La Land Records releases is the liner notes that come with the albums. Not only do you get cool images from the project, but you also get insights from the people crafting the music. That is just a nice little addition that this soundtrack company does!!

You can get this awesome score from LA LA Land Records directly! You can also find the track listing there!

Final Rating:

RATINGS - 5.0 STAR
