Hello all and welcome to a NEW Daily Blog series from me… TFG1Mike! The idea here is for me to write something, anything, once a day for 365 days. From January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. In my 236th entry, I’ll be talking about Black Stone Cherry’s song Smile, World! EVERY TRACK so far has blown my mind, heart, and soul! The line, “One Life Is All We’re Given.” That really has me thinking about whether or not I’ve started livin’ my life. There’s another verse in this song that I’ll talk about below, but Smile, World is another badass banger from BSC! This fabulous foursome is one of the best bands EVER! They are always thinking, and they are always giving us what we need when we need it, even if we didn’t know we needed it. The title is Smile, World, and BSC is definitely letting me do that right now!
With lyrics like:
“Hold up I got somethin’ to say
I got a new perspective on all the things that affect us
Got that grateful disease, about to make it infectious.
And I be handing out love while I’m counting them blessin’s
Cause everybody wants it, everybody needs it
Yeah Everybody complains every time that it rains
I know that shit is a pain
Everybody lives, you get just what you give!”
And the one line that has me thinking a lot is:
“Everybody dies, what will you leave behind?”
I’ve often thought, what am I leaving behind, and will anyone ever hear it? All these podcasts that we’ve done over the years… what will happen to them after… you know…. Even with that the chorus states wake up you gotta smile world, start livin’!! So BSC are putting a positive spin on it, as they always do. Which is why I love them so much! They even tell us don’t bite the hand that has been given, and that has me thinking over the last two years of my life…. THANK YOU to everyone who has given me a helping hand. I hope somehow I can repay you all one day.
The instruments in this track are killer. I truly think Screamin’ At The Sky might be one of if not the heaviest Black Stone Cherry Album to date. The opening drumbeats from John Fred Young, to Chris Robertson’s vocals and guitar… Then you have Bouncin’ Ben Wells and Swingin’ Steve Jewell Jr on the bass!!! Man I want a Screamin’ At The Sky instrumental album!
With every track they release I still say that they are telling us a story that we can all feel in our bones! I have no clue what the album will be like when we finally get it September 29, 2023, but I’m here for it, because BSC 8 Screamin’ At The Sky is something the world should definitely smile about!
Just as they did with My Last Breath from the 2018 Family Tree album, BSC got their amazing fans involved on this one!! The video is amazing check it out, and start SMILE, WORLD!!
