New Years Notes
Hello all and welcome back to TFG1Mike 365! When I started this in January of 2019, the idea was for me to write something, anything, once a day for 365 days. Sadly there were moments in 2019 and last year in 2023 that it was very difficult to keep up the daily writing. However I’m very proud of the writing I did in those years. You can find all the blogs over at FROM THE DESK OF TFG1Mike! I’ve written a few things here and there through 2020, 2021, and 2022, but generally I’ve been fully focused on the audio podcasting. As always I need my computer, my keyboard, my headphones, and music blaring in said headphones… In order for me to zone out, tune into what I wanna write! And yes dear reader, you are not mistaken, the title of this blog, is the same as it was on New Years Day in 2019 and 2023! I figured it could be a whole yearly series, so I’m calling it New Years Notes every year from now on. You can read 2019’s New Years Notes HERE! As well as 2023’s can be read HERE! A LOT has changed since those write ups!
In 2023 I wanted to attempt the daily blogging again, and sadly I think I failed at it. I only wrote for 56 outta 365 days! However here are some highlights:
BLACK STONE CHERRY A Story Through Their Songs! – This was a fun wordplay exercise for me. Trying to fit BSC song titles into actual sentences was a bit difficult, but I think I pulled it off.
Podcasting, I’m In No Rush! – In this entry I detail my podcasting style and approach to getting podcasts produced!
MY PODCAST LISTENERSHIP! – This should be self explanatory, but I talk about HOW I LISTEN to podcasts!
On Days 7, 14, and 21 I listed MY ULTIMATE SATURDAY MORNING CARTOON LINEUPS! These were from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s! A Fun little experiment I did because of OptimusSolo’s Geek Showcase project on the same subject. You can watch his videos on his YouTube channel HERE!
DAY 10 of 2023 was all about TIME DISPLACEMENT! – Time is weird man!
The Daily Dealings with Depression! – My second depression discussion post. The first was on Day 6 of 2019. If anyone out there needs help all you haveta do is ask!
14 Years of The GeekCast Radio Network! – In 2023 The GCRN celebrated fourteen years of being online!
The Masked Marauding Marsupials Of Doom!! – Yes You Read That Correctly! These are the dreams I have!
LISTENING TO MUSIC and READING COMICS! – Two of my favorite things to do. Music rules my soul, and the comic book medium I believe is the best way to tell long form stories!
Quotable Things I Love In Quotes! – This one is most of my favorite quotes, from things I’ve said or from movies I’ve seen or from other inspirations!
10 Years of Altered Geek! – AG is Steve/Megatron’s show, but I like going back and gathering the best moments in my mind. So that’s what this post was, a celebration of ALTERED GEEK!!!!!
The Beginning of The Maren Moments! – Charting the start of how Karen and I became the couple that we were.
15 Years of All Things Transformers! – Once again ATTF is and has always been Steve/Megatron’s show, however I’d like to think over the years we share in the podcast duties for this one! This entry of TFG1Mike 365 highlights all the TRANSFORMERS interviews and more that ATTF has done in 15 years! Plus I think it also highlights the massive TOP 100 TRANSFORMERS CHARACTERS COUNTDOWN as well!
John Hiatt’s Recovery Tetralogy of Albums! – Most say it’s a recovery trilogy, but I count Perfectly Good Guitar in there as well. It was an interesting listen through these four albums, and everyone needs to go listen to Jesse and Sylvan on Perfectly Good Podcast right HERE!
BLACK STONE CHERRY!!!! I wrote a lot about them in 2023! With their 8th studio album releasing, the excitement was all over the place!
15 Years of TFG1Mike – The Podcast Machine! – This is a preview of what I wanna do in the future of me podcasting.
And then after only 56 days of writing I was BEYOND BURNT OUT! So not sure how many I’m gonna do in 2024, but I’m gonna try my best!
So it’s NEW YEARS DAY 2024, and it’s time for me to hit that RESET button! As I attempted to do in 2023. I’m going to attempt to write one blog post per day for the next 365 days. From January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. I am not sure I’m ready for everything 2024 might offer, but my hope is renewed with a new year. I’m looking forward to all the writing, I’m hoping to accomplish, and all the podcasts I plan to do between now and December 2024! The Pull Bag is at 539 episodes, my plan (hopefully) is to get it to 700 episodes by the end of the year. As for the rest of the podcasting things, well you’ll just haveta tune in and find out what The GCRN will be doing in it’s 15th year online! June 1, 2024 marks 15 Years of The GeekCast Radio Network!
