  1. Guillermo Del Toro got my vote. I would like to see what you all think of his earlier work and if he is as great of a director as people make out. Don’t get me wrong he can make a great movie. He has just made a lot of duds that people are too forgiving of/

  2. You should do Kevin Smith. The other directors reviews will nearly all be super positive. He has more peaks and valleys. Plus I want to hear why you all think of Tusk and Yoga Hoisers.

  4. Agreed!!! Smith is ralked about EVERYWHERE!!! he’s so friggin’ overrated!! Whereas I don’t see-hear anyone talking Robert’s career much in depth anyways.

  5. One of these directors gave us The Back to the Future trilogy. The rest did not. Pretty easy decision to me. Zemeckis has a much more epic career with a huge variety of different movies. He gives you the most variety.

    2. If you are going to do a Director retrospective Zemeckis does not work in my eyes. He has no definite style as a director. He is like George Lucas where he relies heavy on newish technology to make his movies special. It is not that he does not have talent. He’s good at getting ideas on screen but he is more of a facilitator rather than a director. Say what you will about Kevin Smith he has complete control over pretty much everything. What is on screen is his doing, which is why many of his movies don’t work.

I picked Hitchcock cause I’d like to see what people coming to his movies for the first time think of them.

  6. This is a hard one for me. Love both Guillermo Del Toro and Kevin Smith. Zemeckis made some of my favorite movies. I went with Hitchcock because I haven’t watched many of his movies and looking for recommendations would be great.

    1. Do you really need someone to recommend a Hitchcock movie though? I’m sure you’ve probably heard of all his movies.

    2. You better rally the troops then because we are coming up just short at the moment!
