  1. My top 10 are: 1. Boyhood, 2. Birdman, 3. Foxcatcher, 4. Selma, 5. American Sniper, 6. Night Moves, 7. Guardians of the Galaxy, 8. Snowpiercer, 9. The Raid 2, and 10. The Lego Movie.

I thought it was an amazing year for movies. For me when there is no universal opinion on what is the best movie I tend to think that’s a good sign. Last year was good too, but this year had more good movies IMO.

    1. I have to disagree with you on that one. This year was diverse and unique, but couldn’t really compare to last year or the last couple of years. Way to many disappointments this year for me personally. Great list though! I don’t quite get the love everyone has for the Raid 2 though.

    2. I don’t think this was bad year at all. Just not nearly as good as last year. Last year had I would say 3 or 4 movies you could argue are masterpieces (12 Years a Slave, Gravity, Her, The Act of Killing). This year had its fair share of good movies. Nothing though that is masterpiece level. At least based on what I saw so far.

  2. 10. Guardians Of The Galaxy 9. Into The Woods 8. The Lego Movie 7. Captain America: The Winter Soilder, 6. Godzilla, 5. Dawn of The Planet of the Apes, 4. Angry Video Game Nerd The Movie 3. Birdman, 2. Xmen Days of Future Past 1. Tusk

    1. Godzilla was one of the worst films I have seen this decade. I can see some of the others but that film was down right horrible

    2. Interesting number one. I have to give Smith credit for Tusk. He tried something new. I was a little let down though. I enjoyed what he did with Red State but his direction on Tusk seemed off to me. Like he didn’t know how to control the material or the actors.
