Talking in Circles – 79 – Celebrity Deathmatches

TinC-ipod

This week’s theme: Death. Death of careers to be exact. Inspired by that classic clay animation TV show Celebrity Deathmatch we square off the celebs of today to determine what careers need to die and what careers should keep on going. Some of the match-ups include Justin Bieber vs. Miley Cyrus, Kayne West vs. Kim Kardashian, Tom Brady vs. Alex Rodriguez and that is just the start…

  1. I actually met Bill Nye in real life one time and he was a total gem. He got mobbed by people but was super patient, made jokes, and spent time talking to everyone. So I can say he is a great person in real life.

With that said I would still go with Tyson in that because I loved Cosmos so much.

  2. Colin Cowherd is a ‘shock jock’ in that he boosts raitings by saying outrageous things and getting free publicity from it. It is the man who called people in Alabama “Tornado Bait”

If you google his name you will find TONS of links of him and other famous people having public disagreements and even more links of Colin saying outrageous things. He had no respect for ESports and I’m glad he is gone.

    1. I actually agree with him on the Esports thing. Why would you have video games on ESPN?

  4. I so with Chuck on Scott Van Pelt and Russillo’s show. I’m sad their show ended together. Apparently Van Pelt felt like they didn’t get support from ESPN, especially when compared with Mike & Mike and others. I was never a fan of Colin Cowherd. He was too in love with the Patriots and came off as a real tool.

    1. Yeah always heaping praise on Brady and the pats. And Lebron as well. Not that I hate them as people but sheesh there are lots of other teams and players that deserve recognition.

      1. I never listened to his radio show much but I do like Sports Nation and his football show. I dunno I always thought he had fun and interesting things to say and tended to find him pretty funny. Don’t know if the radio show was different though.

  7. That made me realize how much I missed celebrity deathmatch. That show was so creative and underrated. I think it would have been even bigger today as we are obsessed with celebs even more. Man I miss the days when MTV made programming that was edgy and worth watching. Now they are just a lesser CW full of reality shows of teens getting pregnant.
