  1. Hey, guys! I finished Voltron LD S2 on Netflix recently, as well. Overall, I like the series. I admit that I have a difficult time of keeping track of everything in a serialized show like this. I think shows like Avatar, Korra, ThunderCats 2011, GI Joe Renegades and others have pulled off better, to be honest. And I think the difference is that those series did a better job of narrowing their focus per episode, but still giving you that nugget to tie into the overarching story. I don’t know. Maybe it is just me. I do enjoy Voltron a lot, actually. The CGI Voltron looks good. There are some beautiful backgrounds, for sure, which Mike mentioned. And some of the action shots are very good.

I am surprised you both find Lance so annoying. I actually feel like he is the most interesting character on the Voltron force. Shiro is a great leader, and Josh does an amazing job voicing him. Steven Yeun does a good job as Keith, but in S1 I felt like his character didn’t develop much. They focused more on him in S2. Hunk was my favorite character in the original show. Here, he is mostly a cliche character, as is Pidge. I hate saying that, but it’s true. Not every overweight character has to be obsessed with food. And not every smart character has to wear glasses, love tech, be a super genius and be anti-social. Just sayin’. Princess here is okay. She’s learning that a race isn’t good or bad, people are good or bad, no matter their race, which is a good lesson for everyone. Koran is a bit too silly at times for my tastes, and the ‘slipperies’ in S2 was a bit too corny and convenient for the story, but it was a clever plot device.

My favorite episodes from S2 were episode 1, which focused on Pidge’s exit from the wormhole. I loved the background and setting here. I also like when we see other creatures/aliens on other planets, so this was a fun episode, and a good way to start S2. Episode 7, Space Mall, was another favorite. I expected it to be a silly throwaway episode, but it was very good. It focused on the characters and situation, while giving us a nugget to fit into the overall continuity of the series, which I said I enjoy. Episode 9 was also a favorite. It was an action-packed adventure episode. As you said, those final three episodes were also good. The last half of the final episode was very good. Great action shots and it left us wanting more.

So, again, it is a good series overall. I definitely recommend it. I hope that they bring in more adventures and try not to focus so much on the Galra. And I would like to see more Robeasts. Minor nitpicks, really.
