  1. I’m with Steve on the Star Trek series. I’m not paying extra for a CBS service just to watch it. I’ll wait to maybe get it on blu ray when it comes out. At least that way I have a physical copy. I watch no other CBS shows so paying a fee just to watch one show is ridiculous if I don’t get to own it.

    1. I bet anything that CBS offers it someway besides just their streaming service. My guess is they think by making people have to use this service to watch it they will get all the Trek fans to pay the money to see it. But I don’t see that happening. When you make things more and more exclusive, harder to get to, and more expensive all you do is make it more enticing to get it in other means. HBO works because it has a lot of shows and movies to choose from. Netflix works because it has as lot to choose from. If CBS only has this one show going for it not many people will spend the dough.

      1. the CBS streaming service has more than just the upcoming Trek show they have most if not all of their past shows like nash bridges (my fav) and others.

      2. The first episode will be on tv and then following that the plan is to make it app exclusive or service exclusive. I won’t pay into it despite the $5.99 price point. Not when I can wait and buy the season after it’s done and watch the whole thing. Now for that $5.99 if they let me binge watch the entire season, I may fold for that to watch and cancel it. But they give a free month to you anyhow so it maybe worth checking out too.

    2. I prefer to watch on television and then buy the seasons, films and series rather than buying a subscription to a service where I don’t OWN any of it to watch when I see fit. Although CBS is the largest television station out there since the dawn of television, I still don’t find their exclusivity on an app a viable service for me.

        1. What I mean is original programming you can only get on the channel. A lot of those past shows can be found other places or in syndication and you aren’t going to sell service with only stock content any more. You need original programming to create buzz and build interest. That’s why Netflix is pouring more money into creating original content and less into buying streaming rights for movies. Hulu and Amazon are doing the same. I haven’t heard CBS trying to make any other shows exclusive for this service besides Star Trek. Maybe they are out there I just haven’t heard of them.

  3. I highly advise checking out Max Landis video on the entire conservatory surrounding Ghost in the Shell. Its rather eye opening and he brings up a lot of good points over why they couldn’t cast an Asian actress for that role.

    1. Yeah I will do that. Is it no Netflix or Hulu or is there somewhere else I may have to look to check it out? I don’t personally care what people cast as what but still seemed an odd choice but she can play weird like her previous films outside of Marvel.

      1. It’s on his youtube page. Tried to post a link but it didn’t work. He’s name is UpToMyKnees
