  1. I’ve watched Heroes: Reborn and kind of like it. I do have some theories. I bet that Katana girl is Hiro’s daughter. She could be any age since Hiro can travel in time and space. From all the stuff I’ve read, Hiro’s OP power set was one of the biggest writing challenges the show faced. After Kirby Plaza, his entire character arc was just an endless cycle of losing, regaining, and breaking his powers that fluctuated even more than Peter’s and Sylar’s did combined. I actually really liked when he could only stop time and had to do things like carry Ando in a wheelbarrow and move Sylar on a dolly.

Freezing time, traveling through time, and teleportation are all ridiculously good powers on their own, and the writers bit off way more than they could chew giving him all of them. It makes sense since they’re all linked to the 4th dimension, but it was so nuts that they really had to pull shit out of their asses constantly to keep him in check and it hurt both the show and his character way too much after the first season. He was still my favorite because I absolutely loved his attitude and personality, but he could’ve been so much better if they just gave him a power handicap and stuck with it instead of spinning a wheel to decide the state of his ability every 5 episodes.

    1. I cannot wait to talk about this in AGU this week. I have several theories and ideas in place after re-watching the mini-episodes that bridge between Heroes and Reborn as well as the first episode.

I loved Hiro. He was one of my favorite. I enjoyed Peter until they neutered him and Syler was great until they brought in his mommy and daddy issues constantly with the Petrelli’s.

With Hiro only being in 3 episodes this season I see him in a limited role as well as Parkman/Suresh/Angela Petrelli in one episodes there. I think it’s funny about Molly Walker and Micah being brought back here and Noah being the massive bridge and glue which I like.

  3. The big reason the White House made a statement that internet is a Core Utility is because conservatives like Jeb Bush have blatantly stated that they would repeal Net neutrality if elected president. When you hear them talk about how the internet works it makes me cringe. These guys have so little understanding of how the internet works it makes me worried what would happen if they do get elected. The crazy thing is most people agree internet is essential in this day and age and should be a utility but the crazy far right wing is forcing candidates to take idiotic stances to appease their small minds.

I shouldn’t be surprised though. These are the same people that deny climate change even though all the facts are in front of them.

    1. As dumb as Al Gore seemed at times, he was ahead of the curve. He understood as a younger politician that the internet needed to be privatized and setup for all to enjoy which is why we have it today. Same with his climate change details.

That being said these guys in office have no understanding of anything. They’ve rotted in those offices for so many years that they have no real life understandings of how we normal people live. Doesn’t matter whether Dem/Rep but they all are equally bad.

It is going to be an issue again and unfortunately this Presidential race, say what you will but looks like we’re all going to be screwed. Not one of these candidates do I see as beneficial. We need younger blood that knows what goes on and how things function.

I do agree that calling it a Utility though makes it seem more concrete that “Hey! We need this!” which is true.

      1. I don’t see it being an issue in the general elections, because public opinion is really one sided on this. Republicans are using it now to gain ground in the primaries but they are smart enough to realize making it an issue during the election will only hurt them.

I don’t think younger blood is the issue, the issue is there is too much money in politics. That’s why you have an entire football team running for the republican nomination.I don’t agree with him politically but I respect Bernie Sanders a lot for making a point not to take huge sums of money from Super Pacs or corporations.
