  1. Jeff Dunham’s show got cancelled because it had awful ratings, and was awful. Even people I know who are fans of Dunham admitted that show was one of the worst things Comedy Central ever put out. They tried to capitalize on his fame and didn’t bother wrtting a good show. Its like the Frank Caliendo on TBS or Jeff Foxworthy’s show. They just think giving a popular stand up will lead to a good show and it rarely does.

    1. When I speak of my enjoyment and love for Dunham’s stuff it has everything to do with the standup specials and nothing to do with that horrid show they tried to do with him.

    2. Jeff Dunham is one of those gimmick comedians that comes out every so often. From Gallagher to Andrew Dice Clay to Carrot Top, Dane Cook, to now Jeff Dunham he’s a comic that has a gimmick that appeals to the mass audiences. His jokes aren’t all that great but to his credit you knows how to play his crowd. But acts like him come and go without having a huge impact on the actual craft of comedy. There aren’t many comedians today who got into it because of those guys. Its people like Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks, Carlin, and others that may not get the crowds they do but will be appreciated a lot more as history goes buy.

Look at the comics that got shows that actually worked. Cosby, Seinfeld, Louie CK. Talented guys who are comedic geniuses in any format.

Daniel Tosh’s show on the other hand gets great ratings so that’s why it stays on the air.

  3. See I’m usually all for separated Art from the artist. I can watch a Roman Polanski despite his known allegations. Cosby is different for me though. There’s something about at guy who was the first to call anyone else out for their behavior, from Richard Pryor to Eddie Murphy he will say how awful they are because of the language they use, and then to find out this guy is doing something much worse than cursing in a stand up act. Something about a guy who was so insistent on telling others how to act the right way, but in reality he is a monster far worse than the crimes he yells at others for commenting.

Cosby was a teacher, which makes it harder I think. If its just a guy who I like his movies or TV shows its not as hard. Cosby was more than that. Imagine finding out Mr. Rogers was a serial killer. I don’t think I could watch his show without feeling sicken. You admired him as more than a comedian he was a great man, or so we thought.

It makes me sad because the Cosby show was a great show and the lessens they taught are great lessens. That shouldn’t be lost, but its Cosby’s fault they are. He lived a lie, didn’t practiced what he preached.

It is also the crime he committed. Its one of the worst things you could possibly do to another person. If he did drugs that’s different. That effects him and won’t destroy or violate the lives of others. When I see him now I see his victims. I try to imagine the massive pay they had to endure forever when no one in the world would believe them. So I wish I could watch his comedy or his show and be like I watching a fictional character but I can’t. I see a predator and hypocrite of the worst kind.

    1. That’s the biggest issue with Cosby. He was the guy to tell everyone else how to act or would call out other comedians for not being good role models for kids or their culture. While the entire time he was sneaking around doing what he did. The crazy thing is it took someone like Hannibal Burress to call him out on it for this entire thing to get going the way it did. It was one of those secrets everyone knew but didn’t say. Glad someone finally stood up to call Cosby out on his BS.
