So few things. Don’t agree with the idea that Angelina Jolie is the same person in every movie. She has a range to her. I wouldn’t call her one of today’s best actresses but she is good. I didn’t see the first movie she directed. Unbroken was meh. A comic book movie could be good for her. Also the person who directed Hurt Locker didn’t direct Twilight. Katheryn Bigelow did direct Zero Dark Thirty and Point Break early in her career. Do not see her directing any comic book movie anytime soon.
I think I made the Jolie comment (Could be wrong). I can agree with your statement on her though. I KNEW that on Twilight haha. I agree with your other comments.
I have a strong feeling this whole Joker storyline in Gotham is nothing but a big red herring and it will turn out to be nothing. My theory is Fox is only keeping the show around because they fear a one season failure will hurt their relationship with DC, and fans will be crying Firefly all over again. It boggles my mind that Gotham is getting two seasons but Almost Human got cancelled.
I think the problem is that with some shows there is more backing than others. When you say to a TV network hey it’s batman esque, they’ll put more into it… versus an original concept. Hopefully Steve Michael Powers and I can get together after Gotham Season 1 ends and do an overall discussion over on #RemoteControl
The Netflix deal helps too I bet. They may be betting on a Breaking Bad like effect where people catch up with it on Netflix and ratings increase. The difference being Breaking Bad is a great show, Gotham is average at best.
We’ll have to agree to disagree on BB being a great show. But I agree on the fact that Gotham is average at best.
Agree to disagree on BB? Weird. Thought it was universally accepted that show is one of the best.
I’m a double edged sword… when I think something is awesome, I attempt to get most of my friends into it. Yet when the entire internet is like “BEST SHOW EVER” I avoid it at all costs. I did spend 2 months marathoning all 5 seasons… By midway of Season 2 I was so bored. There was too much drama and not enough action for me personally.
I don’t HATE Breaking Bad, I just don’t se the excellence everyone else does, and it’s not a show I’ll ever watch again.
If you are going to watch Breaking Bad for action you are
going to have a bad time. What’s great about it is the drama. lol
And sadly I felt the drama was slow and boring. Sorry.
What type of drama is more your speed?
Some that has a mix of action with it. The whole thing in Season 2 of BB with the season long drag out of the plane crash was just excruciating. I wanna know what happens right then. Not at the end of 15 episodes
So you don’t like foreshadowing, and instead of building suspense and mystery kill both of those to adhere to your need for immediate stratification? You do know how story telling works right? Because your way flies in the face in the most basic elements of story telling. Tell me a show you feel does drama well. Cause I can’t imagine a show that does drama better than BB.
Yes I understand storytelling elements, I just don’t like the way BB foreshadowed stuff. Arrow does drama very well The Sopranos did drama extremely well. The Newsroom was awesome. Sorry I’m just not a BB fan.
I’d to see Mass Effect become a TV series. We need another good Science Fiction series again
