  1. The nickreboot. com plays stuff from Nick from the 90’s and early 2000’s. Was that what you were talking about? I watch ti on my Roku all the time.

    1. I was unsure of the station but love the fact it has the old content.

On the Big Four, it does make perfect sense for the decline in the wait time of a show to live or die. I think it may benefit them too nowadays in that they can weed them out sooner. Despite some maybe getting the ax too early to tell.

That deal with the Seinfield’s, that I can see as well. That’s why most shows in the current age tend to hit the ground running hoping to attract right from day one. Such as Last Man Standing, Flash and the Girl Meet’s World’s as it were.

I think the format is still evolving and it will be hard to read for the forseeable future. With online content providers entering the fray it is adding more unknowns and possibilities we previous would never have seen.

      1. Yea I think we are getting more shows like Girl Meets World, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, etc… because TV stations have more faith in them knowing their is a built in audience. Similar to movies. Doesn’t always work. Look at as Constantine though. The weird thing is Constantine might get canceled but actually has good ratings if it was on the CW.

    2. I wish they gave shows more time too. Red Ban Society was really great. It could have gotten more popular if they gave it more time. Fox just hates good shows. They cancel that and Firefly but keep Family Guy on forever and Glee somehow makes it even though no one cares about that show anymore.

I hope Netflix picks up Redband.

The problem is, advertisers on Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS, who pay a premium to advertise on a broadcast network, expect audience sizes large enough to justify the network’s rates. And network executives at the Big Four, faced with advertising declines, don’t have the luxury of waiting around for a show to catch on, particularly when they know, statistically, that few of them will.

When you think about it a show like Seinfeld would never happen today. It took two or three seasons for that to get really good and get ratings. We don’t get the slow burns anymore else they are on cable.

We may see a shift though when more shows go on things like Netflix or Amazon. Ratings won’t matter at all then. It’s more about buzz.

  3. Wasn’t the tech gadget question asked before? Dunno, I could be wrong. If we are specifically talking tech gadgets I would go with The Predator’s invisibility shield or the portal gun from portal. If I had both I could probably take over the world. Oh what the world would be like.

  4. I’d love to have a mech of some sort. Either one from titanfall or pacific rim. If I can fight monsters inside a giant robot I’d be happy.
