You guys seem to have a limited understanding of how movie news works, and it appears you think this type of stuff with Batman vs Superman is new when this stuff has been going on for ever. Sure the internet has increased the amount of voices. Now everyone has an opinion. Movies trades though have been around since the early 30’s. Most of the news you are complaining about isn’t being broadcast by movie studies it is the outlets that are forcing every little tiny rumor for news bait. If you look at the actual amount of official news released by actual press releases by the studio it’s rather minimal. So you can’t put this on Hollywood.
You guys are complaining about the beast while feeding it at the same time. Do people react too soon and too often? Oh my god yes. But that’s the same with anything really. This is not a trait reserved for fanboys. See sports for instance. It is also really easy to avoid so I don’t get the ‘I’m so sick of it’ complaint. Stop seeking it out and guess what you no longer need to worry about it. Don’t go to the desert and complain when you find sand, and don’t complain about too much hype when you go searching hype websites.
Yes you are right, but part of my point was that #1 I haven’t said much in the way of an opinion on BVS, except this ep, and the other AGU I was on. The film is too far away, and until I see a trailer, I just don’t care.
My main complaint is that bait sites are doing all this wayyy too early. It barely allowed MOS to even gain any popularity before everyone was like “YAY” Batman in a Supes moie TWO YEARS from now” I GET it there will be leaked info etc etc…. BUT WHY must it be two years in advance of whenever the damn film… no matter what film it is comes out….. that’s my issue with it.
Thanks for listening!!!
Hookline and sinker. Well played haha. Yeah this episode ended up being worse upon relisten than it should have been. Never thought of the hype with the Sports and whatnot but I don’t follow sports at all. So point taken sir!
This was a hard one to get through. Felt like an extended
rant that will lose steam from time to time. Usually if you guys have an issue
with something you provide some sort of reasoning to make it better, this time
just felt really bitter. Also the Carmax ad was a take on all those slow clap
moments in movies ‘hence the Rudy cameo’ and meant to be over the top. Also
really loved the America the Beautiful coke ad, and thought it actually had a
positive message which I don’t understand people getting upset about. I do agree the commercials could have been
better, but they are commercials so I don’t see a reason to get upset about them.
Hey we appreciate it. I honestly didn’t know Mike was going to drop the f-bomb for one which I did edit. I agree we usually do better with the rants. Will correct that next episode. Old habits sometimes.
Ahh, I didn’t know what the Carmax commercials were doing. Makes sense now though. No I agree as well on the commercials. Just had some favorites.
LOL I coulda sworn I said F— then dead air before continuing, sorry ugh.
The cursing doesn’t bother me at all, it just came off as empty and repetitive. I get the news likes to overload stuff, but it is also really a very superficial thing to get upset about. If you don’t like it more power to you. Ranting to me is so overdone and fun to listen to to a point. I’d rather listen to a constructive argument that talks about the story (good vs bad) or at least provide some sort of criticism that is more than just saying you don’t like it, or if you aren’t going to go in depth keep in short. Nearly half the episode felt like it was one giant loop.
The casting of a major character is kind of big news and SVB is something we have never seen before. The reason Transformers 4 wasn’t in the news much was because it was really offering all that much that is new. At this point we know what to expect, but with whatever DC and Warner Bros is doing we have no idea, and I kind of think they don’t know what they are doing either. Is there way too much about it? Of course there is. But people keep biting on every little bit. The only way to stop the news overload is by directing attention elsewhere to more important matters.
my rant this ep was mainly negative, because everything I’ve seen or heard about BVS is all media hype, and speculation with no real facts. So backing my rant up is kinda hard to do when the flippin’ movie aint even gonna be out for 2 years! And all the media outlets over selling BVS to the world is making want to see it less and less regardless of what the film might actually be.
I think for the next time Steve and I should find other topics than film stuff lol Thanks for the constructive feedback.
This was a hard one to get through. Felt like an extended rant that will lose steam from time to time. Usually if you guys have an issue with something you provide some sort of reasoning to make it better, this time just felt really bitter. Little disappointed because I tend to listen to your podcast because if you do talk about something you dislike you provide criticism not complaints. Maybe it was just an off night. I’m not going to stop listening or anything. Only making a constructive critique.

I could not agree more with Mike regarding the News overload for Man of Steal vs THe Dark Knight or whatever they are calling it. Just too much. I get the casting announcements cause those are a big deal, but lets simmer down with the rumors.
The next ep will be much lighter. I think why I ranted so much here is because all my opinions on the Bullsnot that is BVS I was holding it in. Sorry everyone lol
I must say I don’t get the comments below. I loved the episode and agreed 100% with what Mike and Steve were saying. Seriously this movie isn’t coming out until 2016 and every time someone sneezes a new rumor appears. I’m glad to hear someone say this madness needs to stop.
THANKS man. Yeah I guess to “discuss” and not rant….. my issue with the whole thing is….. we had THREE BATMAN films 2005-2008-2012….. Superman hadn’t had a film since 2006! So last year we get one…… THEN they jump the gun… and by they I mean HOLLYWOOD because of the Snyder Comic-Con announcement of Batman V Superman or whatever the hell they are gonna call it.
I would rather have a Stand alone Superman film for a sequel first… THEN have the third film be BVS.
But yes stop the madness….. it’s like the entire world is plagued with BVS disease. Sneezing everytime a rumor hits the fan. Again I think that’s why I wenht off in this ep, as I stated before…. I’d be holding my opinion in…. glad ya liked the ep SFF98!
Glad to hear it. I think moreso we could have still had the rant minus the no solution or violent distaste lol. But what we said is totally what we think.
Great episode guys. Did you guys see the casting for Gotham? I like where they are going with it.
yup, we’ll bring it up in this weeks show!
