      1. I always wanted to watch The Sopranos just never got a chance Also Boardwalk Empire, Lost, and Alphas. Heard great things about them all.

      2. Man there are a ton of TV shows I wish I could catch up with. American Horror Story, Sons of Anarchy, Justified, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Dr. Who, ER, and so many more. Some classic stuff like Gunsmoke too.

        1. Justified is amazballs as is American Horror Story. Doctor Who seems to have lost its way IMO, I love Smiths Doctor but that last season, blech. I am hoping the new Doctor brings on some new direction for Moffats writing. He is not bad, Sherlock proves he’s still got it.

      3. The Geek Cast Radio Awards sound like a lot of fun. Can’t wait for those.
Regarding TV I’ve been meaning to catch up with, Well there’s Smaville and Arrow. Also heard amazing things about Arrested Development and the BBC show Misfits.

        1. Misfits is fun, I am enjoying it quite a bit. I jumped over to it after wrapping up Being Human (UK).

      4. I heard you say you don’t have faith in the Gotham show because its on Fox and they are just going to cancel it. My question for you is, if they did a Batman TV series how would you like it done?

Can I also state for the record that the idea that Fox doesn’t give shows a fair shot is not very accurate. I know people point to Firefly, but since then Fox has kept shows on longer than most networks would. Look at Fringe for example. Many would have cancelled that after the third season but they kept it going. Sara Connor Chronicles, Doll House, Human Target, among many others stayed on for multiple seasons with low ratings in hopes they could catch up, but they never did.

Also you can’t blame a network for canceling a show people aren’t watching. I know the argument is you should let it build an audience, but the truth is that rarely ever happens. If the viewers aren’t there in the beginning and the shows costs a lot of money I don’t blame networks for pulling the plug. Cable networks have more freedom in this area because they have less holes to fill. Networks have to make everything count.

      5. Regarding the difference between Hank Pym and Scot Lang. Hank Pym, who changes his name all time time, from Ant-Man to Goliath to Wife Beater among others. Is a genius the level of Tony Stark if not higher. He created Ultron and the Pym particle that lets him grown and shrink and is a original member of The Avengers.

Scott Lang actually stole Ant-Man’s suit. He was originally a criminal but was reformed and become a master of electronics. So much so he installed the security system of the Avengers. After his daughter became ill he was forced to turn back to crime and stole the Ant-Man suite. He was quite good at it and eventually became a hero.

Hank Pym as a character is not the most likeable. Beyond his wife beating antics aside he is more a poor man’s Tony Stark with less charisma.

Scott Lang on the other hand has a rather interesting personality. He is more humorous and his tragic side makes him more fleshed out. I think it’s a good idea to do what they are doing because his character fits Edgar Wright’s style a whole lot more.

Does that make you any more excited for Ant-Man?

      6. You can’t just call Walking Dead overrated and not give a reason like that lol. Why do you think its overrated?

        1. Honestly can’t remember what I said but will elaborate more the next episode. More or less these shows pertaining to werewolfs, zombies, vampires are the constant. Just like Superheroes they are becoming the same pitfall of tv and film.

          1. Couldn’t you say that about a lot of things though? How many court room dramas, CSI esc shows, Detective shows, Medical shows, etc.. do we have? For me the subject matter you base your show/movie on doesn’t indicate if it will be good or not. It’s what you do with it. Walking Dead works not just because its about zombies but because of the characters it has, situation it creates, and stories it tells. I’ll agree its not all great. The first 2.5 seasons had some rough patches, but overall I thought it was good. And I think Teen Wolf is not a half bad show as well

            1. I agree that the cop dramas are WAAAY out of hand. I watch none because I am sick of it all. But Walking Dead I don’t have an issue with that’s just my personal opinion on it. I know a ton of people love it, my wife included. I just can’t get into it. I will concede it is a good story and characters are solid though.

      7. What did Mike think of the new episode/season of Sherlock? I think its been the best yet.

        1. I finished season 3 last week, or 2 weeks ago? I was as giddy as a school girl with the wrap up to episode 3. I can’t for season 4 in a couple years. I’ll elaborate more on the next AGU!

For now I a glad some one else is watching!

      8. I’m looking for a good book to read, any suggestions? I’m a big fan of anything suspense, science fiction, fantasy, or mystery/thriller.

        1. 3 of my favorites:

Timeline – Way better then the movie
          Prey
          Airframe
State of Fear is also good.

Those are all Michael Crichton novels.

I also enjoy Bret Easton Ellis novels, the writer of American Psycho. The interesting thing about his books is that they share characters and weaves an interesting web connecting all the books.

          Less Then Zero
          The Informers
          The Rules of Attraction
          Glamorama

As you can tell most of his books have been made into movies that are good (American Psycho) to ok (Rules of Attraction).

      9. Couldn’t you say that about a lot of things though? How many court room dramas, CSI esc shows, Detective shows, Medical shows, etc.. do we have?
