  1. Are people really calling Frozen a masterpiece. I know people like it and Let it Go is everywhere, but I haven’t heard anyone call it a masterpiece.

  2. I don’t see Batman v Superman becoming a header for each movie like The Hunger Games or Twilight. That’s normal for book adaptations to do that but I assume the title will be different for the Justice League movie. At least I hope so. Otherwise you’ll have Batman and Superman fighting every movie.

  3. I 100% agree with Mike (Powers) when it comes to news and marketing. If you are over saturated with something on social media then it’s because you over saturated. First if it bothers you that much get off the computer and do something constructive, more importantly the more open you are to different subjects and mediums the less that happens. People surround themselves with people who think the same way as they do way too much. It makes you misinterpret what the world is really like.

    1. I severely disagree with your opinion that it’s my fault I saturated my own news feed. You are right that like minded people will want to be around each other. You say get off the computer if you don’t wanna see the abundance of news…? Really? All my “constructive” work is DONE on the computer. I’m open to some new stuff but not a lot. And when many of my friends hype something up or continue to talk about it, even though I’m not in the conversation it makes me turn away from whatever geeky thing that might be.

Take Frozen for example I kept hearing about the song let it go, and all my friends who saw Frozen in theaters saying it was a masterpiece. I saw the trailer, and based on that advertising to me…. it did not look like something I HAD to see in the theater. Then with a majority of my friends saying ” best disney film ever” and kept on saying that it made me avoid the film even more.

^So based on that and your opinion of people saturize their own newsfeeds you are saying I need new friends then right? LOL

As far as misinterpreting what the world is really like…… well the whole point of comics, tv, movies, video games… etc etc is to escape the pressures of the real world and what it is really like. My whole point about the dawn of justice news stuff is as Powers and I have both said…… SHOW US SOMETHING ALREADY! don’t just keep taunting us with news stories.

      1. I’m not really getting what you are trying to say. You are basically proving my point. You indicate you are on the computer all day to do constructive work. Does constructive work require you to be on Facebook or Twitter? Unless you are a social media consultant I don’t see how having to work on a computer means you also have no choice but to be on Facebook and Twitter all day.

There’s an unlimited amount of information available along with possibilities in today’s age. If all you do is surround yourself with the same type of escapism then that’s really on you. The problem you are complaining about is your own doing. If all you do is surround yourself with only like-minded people who think and act the same way you hurt your own human development. Not to mention what you miss out on in life. You form uneducated opinions, and live a life of ignorance. So yes if all the people you know think and act the same way you would be doing yourself a disservice if that’s the only people you surround yourself with.

If it’s not your fault who is it? How do you fix it? Why do I, among many others, not have the issue while you do? Where does the blame belong? You have only demonstrated you are unable to take ownership of your own complaints.

    2. Reminds me of one of my favorite Sports Night qoutes:

“If you’re dumb surround yourself with smart people. If you are smart, surround yourself with smart people who disagree with you”

      1. Can’t go wrong by quoting Aaron Sorkin. I loved that show. Josh Charles got me to check out The Good Wife. I was not disappointed.

    3. I’ll back you up there. I was getting to the point with all the crazy hype and over marketing was driving me buggy. I cut the cord as much as possible. Did some serious Facebook and Twitter trimming. Feel a million times better.

    4. I see both sides really. I agree it’s easy to avoid the hype, but there is just so much of I anymore. People are so worried about content and not giving legitimate opinions. Not to brown nose but that’s why I like GCRN, because recently it appears its more about the people and less about and opinions then just empty news. Love giving all the sides and different takes. Too often sites are just robots that spew the same opinion over and over.

  4. So what do you guys do when the shows end for the summer and we get into repeats. Any under the radar show you can recommend to get into during the summer.

    1. I’m so used to cable networks having summer premieres that I barely notice the fact that the giant networks have a buncha reruns. As far as suggestions… not too sure. Seems like this summer will be bare bones. I know there are a number of shows premiering on FX, but none of them interest me.

      1. Yea I’m the same way. There’s always something to watch anymore. I feel like most cable series don’t really start until the summer. Especially on USA and TNT.
