Batman Beyond 2.0
Continuing the epic animated universe crossover. Bat Beyond 2.0 Chapter 20 continues where Chapter 19 left off. This will be a slightly SPOILER FILLED Review!
Justice Lords Beyond Another World “New Threads” Part 4 of 8
So we get to see what LORD BATMAN BEYOND can do in this chapter! As he and blond Terry fight off the Jokerz! Plus we see the Terrys talking about their pasts… sort of.
Writing:
Kyle is crafting a whole new level of awesomeness with the writing here. He is creating stories that I really wanna see in animation. He is world building in one of the most unique ways ever. Taking the two Terrys… The one we know and love as Batman Beyond, and the Justice Lords timeline Terry who is a Joker. I mean really think about that…… Batman and the Joker are working together, because they are two different sides of the same coin. That is so damn amazing to me. Kyle mixes in dialogue with action so very well.
What I want is more answers, more insight, and more reveals as to blond Terry’s past and what the hell happened to make him become a Joker. I would love to see if JL timeline Mary McGinnis is seen again, and what her reaction to our Terry would be. Other than that Kyle keeps me on the edge of my seat with each chapter. Admittedly there isn’t more I can say about his writing for Chapter 20, because I’ve already said it. This chapter is more action driven than dialogue. But there is a great moment where our Terry tells blond Terry abot the regular timeline. That was a nice little nod to the end of Return of the joker… at least that’s what I read into it. I’m so looking forward to the next chapter and the showdown. To see how Kyle writes Terry vs Lord Superman!
Art:
Thony Silas and Emilio Lopez continue to KILL it on the art and colors. I LOVE the bright, yet dark purple sky, and the way the Lord Batman Beyond suit looks is awesome. I will say though as far as the suit goes…. There were a few times where I thought it looked weird. Not saying it’s bad or anything, it just looked off the model that is seen in the last chapter. It also seemed to change designs through out this chapter. Maybe it’s the angles? I dunno. Still that is only a minor nitpick. The rest of the art is flawless!!
Final Thoughts/Rating:
MAN THESE ISSUES NEED TO COME FASTER!!!! I’m loving every aspect of both Bat and JL Beyond 2.0!!!! I hate this waiting around stuff!!!! Once again this team continues to be perfect in this series. You should go get BATMAN BEYOND 2.0 Chapter 20. This is the seventh overall chapter of the JUSTICE LORDS OF GOTHAM crossover! All within the Batman Beyond Universe, and you won’t wanna miss a second of it! You can find it on the DC Comics App or Comixology or wherever you get your digital comics.
