  1. Have to say I love this concept. A cool idea that I’m actually shocked I haven’t really see done before. I might have at least mentioned Adventure Time. That is a TV cartoon and comic book that flowing is huge. Not saying top 10 worthy, just needs a shout out

  2. No love for Lego? Pop Vinyl is huge right now no doubt, but so is Lego. The Lego movie was one of the biggest hits of the year, it has its own theme park, and they have been putting out some kickass geek sets recently. I’d put that on the list over Wolverine. Wolverine dying is a news headline for sure. However, I don’t hear many people talking about it except to try to determine when he would be coming back.

    1. But is the Lego movie really big right now? That buzz came and went. The movie is great. Still the best animated movie of the year. But I wouldn’t put it on the list personally.

      1. Maybe not the movie but the sets they have been coming out with. Not to mention some of the recent Lego games and the ones still set to come out. It is its own gigantic franchise.

  3. Hmm…this idea strangely works. I completely agree with Guardians at number one. As I have bought a great deal of t-shirts, toys, and the sound track of course. The soundtrack alone is huge and made people remember that power of using music effectively.

  4. I may have put Destiny at number 1. That’s all I’m hearing and seeing on social media these past few weeks. I have seen a great deal of angry debates from people about the game for a number of reasons. If you are looking for hot button topics that is as hot as they get.

    1. I would still put Guardians over Destiny just cause of the nature of video games. Movies are easier and quicker to digest so by default impact more people.

      1. Yea, that I get. But the Guardians buzz has weaned some since it has come out so that’s why I’d go Destiny number 1.

        1. Yea but you also have the Guardians comics that are selling
through the roof as well. Not just the movie.

    2. What is that game suppose to be about? I see the commercial constantly and it tells me nothing. lol

      1. It’s a FPS set seven hundred years in the future in a dystopian future. Humans have spread out and colonized planets and you plays and you play as a race of the Guardians who are like the last defenders of humanity. So it’s kind of like Halo but not quite. If you like Halo I’d say you’d like Destiny.

  5. Little disappointed (a good disappointed BTW) that we find out who Artie is and he ends
up getting killed like that lol. Once that reveal came I thought I had it figure and knew where you were going with it. Now I have no clue. Trying to figure out who The Master might be. My knowledge of the Arthur legend is not vast so research might be in order.

    1. I don’t think very far in the future about the story. But, I think I make up for the whole Artie thing.

      1. Nothing to make up for lol. Simply one of those situations where I thought I knew what was going on but I was fooled.

  6. I think you covered pretty much everything. Though what about fantasy football? Maybe it’s not geek centric exactly. You can’t deny how popular it is though.

    1. Fantasy football is pretty huge. I guess we left it out because of it being in the sports category but definitely can’t deny the obsessive nature of that game

  7. Will you be doing the power rankings thing again? Would be interesting to see how things change over time.
