  1. I was one of those people screaming “Star Wars, Star Wars!”. I was worried it was some sick trick and you wouldn’t get to it.

  2. No way I would put Harry Potter over Rocky. Harry Potter is hot now but Rocky is iconic. So many moments in that franchise have been parodied again and again. The soundtracks are some of the best of all time and that thing has lasted for like forty years. Plus it was around before franchises were even a thing yet. I am 100% agreement with Chuck. I’d put Rocky in no doubt about it.

      1. Agreed. I’d vote Rocky as well. I quote those movies on a regular basis. Actually I might take out Bond and put in HP. Never been a big Bond fan.

          1. “I’ll Will Break You” is one of my favorite quotes to go do when I’m in a fit of road rage.

          2. Haha that’s a good one. I work with a guy named Paul and I usually give him the “hey yo Paulie” in Stallone’s voice. Or if doing something strenuous I do the Mr. T grunt from his pull-ups scene

    1. I was a hard choice. So much so it caused me to create the poll. After thinking about it a few days I think I made the right choice. Time will tell.

  3. So no doubt you need Star Wars and James Bond. After that though I was having a hard time choosing. My indication is to go Alien cause I love that franchise. Then I remember I much I hate Alien Resurrection and the Predator vs Alien movies. I love Die Hard and Die Hard with a Vengeance. The rest are ehh. So I’m going Indiana Jones cause I don’t think the forth movie is as bad as everyone thinks it is. And I can’t believe I am saying this…Harry Potter. Those movies are good throughout and you have to give it points for keeping the same cast for like 10 years. I thought about the Marvel movies but the Harry Potter movies are better made.

      1. Well they are better directed. Marvel movies are made paint by numbers. Harry Potter has some style and craftsmanship. The scores are fantastic as well.

        1. I am in agreement that Harry Potter movies are better made in certain instances for Marvels worst films like Thor, Iron Man 2, and Incredible Hulk. I would not say they are better made than the first Iron Man, Guardians, or the Cap movies. Harry Potter movies have one basic look to them that gets repeated over and over.

          1. Yea I agree with this. (Though I really like Incredible Hulk). Marvel movies are not known for their craftsmanship. More their entertainment value.

          2. I think thats changing a bit tho. Look at winter soldier and dark world and i have a feeling age of ultron will be well crafted

          3. That I agree with. If Marvel continues to get directors like James Gunn they will be heading in the right direction. I would also say the
last Captain America movie was one of the best made action films in awhile. So this year has been good for Marvel. Little worried about Avengers however. Joss Whedon has never been a great filmmaker. Great story teller yes. Filmmaker? He has much room to grow.

          4. True but I look for him to realize that he needs to stay on par with the likes of winter soldier and Guardians so I’m giving him the chance to prove himself from a storytelling standpoint. Ultron is a great character to do that with I think

          5. Yea, can’t wait to see Ultron on movie form. That should be cool.

  4. Is it bad that I wouldn’t include Star Wars. It has two great films I don’t disagree with that. Jedi is good but not great. What really kills it are the prequels. 3 awful movies. So I’d go Rocky, Harry Potter, James Bond, and Marvel. Their batting average is better than Star Wars.

    1. Wait how could you not put Star Wars on the list? It’s the biggest movie franchise ever. Period. End of sentence.

    2. I get what you are saying. You have a 50/50 ratio when it comes to the Star Wars movie. Well less if you count that animated movie. The thing is the 50% is better than any other franchise by a long shot. So for that it belongs. Without Star Wars we don’t have franchises like we do today.

      1. I get that Star Wars has a huge influence. I do not agree we would not have franchise without Star Wars. We had movie series long before Star Wars. My point is Star Wars is a better Trilogy than a franchise.

        1. I see your point to an extent. Although I do enjoy Episode III. But when you go back and listen to our criteria Star Wars hits every note to a T.

          1. Except the percentage one. At best it’s 60% which I would call failing

  5. The one horror franchise that deserves to be mentioned is the Nightmare series. It has some duds. The second film is dreadful. The rest are all at least decent. Not counting the remake.

    1. I thought I did at least mention Nightmare. I would agree out of all of the horror franchises it is probably the strongest. Although I still wouldn’t put it on the list. Just does not measure up compared to the other franchises. The first film is fantastic. The others are more charming than good.
