Talking in Circles – 111 – Legends, Rebirth, and the Apocalypse

TinC-ipod

On this week’s episode we have a lot to discuss. We start with a look at the news surrounding the Marvel Legends toys and what figures are a must buy for collectors. Greg and Dan give their thoughts on DC’s rebirth, and then we finish up by reviewing the latest comic book summer blockbuster X-Men: Apocalypse.

  1. I am super hyped for the build a figure Juggernaut. I have not yet determined if I will be picking up the entire series or just buying the assembled piece on Ebay. Either way that thing is going on my shelf. I missed out on the first figure years ago and there is no way I am letting that happen again.

    1. I missed out on the original series 6 juggernaut and I bought it a few years later for $80. Yeah I know, stupid. Don’t ever make the mistake of overpaying. Eventually you will find a deal. Then I bought the marvel select version and I love it.

If you don’t have the select version, pick it up. I know it’s not the best scale, get it anyway. It looks amazing. Like statue quality.

I am still looking forward to this BAF because it looks great and I’m a juggernaut fan anyway. I already pre-ordered this whole wave. Can’t wait.

      1. I’ve made much worse purchases than an $80 Juggernaut. I have a $200 Sideshow Collectibles 12″ Boba Fett figure. I love it, but regret buying it nearly every day.

        1. That’s a doozy! I guess we all have at least one of those purchases in our life. Hey at least it wasn’t a mid life crisis convertible for $70K !

  2. I can’t believe its Geoff John’s last DC Comics book that he’s writing. He’s moving on to DC Films, its the end of an era. His Teen Titans book still holds strong as one of DC’s best young teen books. His JL run has been spectacular and I can’t believe its almost ending.

I’m gonna savor the hell out Rebirth special. It was a great book.

    1. As someone who didn’t read a lot of DC that fact didn’t hit me all that hard. But I understand why it would be a bittersweet moment for a lot of DC fans.

    1. The good part about that is now Geoff John’s can help make the movies better than they have been.
