That’s just the start as we  also discuss our thoughts on the newest Suicide Squad trailer and Wonder Woman footage. We also have reviews of Legends of Tomorrow and Peggy Carter. Lastly we end with a discussion around the news of the big comic book changes happening at DC and Marvel and how it impacts our enjoyment of reading comics.

  1. Legends of Tomorrow has been awesome. Right now its the second best show on TV right behind Flash.

    1. 100% agreed. Although I could put Super Girl above all of them right now. I hated the first episode. Stuck with it, and now its awesome. Stoked for the Flash – Super Girl crossover.

      1. I still find Super Girl average at best. It doesn’t have the acting or as compelling stories as Flash or Arrow. And no villain that really stands out to me so far. My order would go like this:

        1. Daredevil
        2. Flash
        3. Jessica Jones
        4. Legends of Tomorrow
        5. Agents of SHIELD – this season has been great
        6. Agent Carter – could go up after the season ends
        7. Gotham – Awesome season so far
        8. Arrow – major drop off the last two season. This year is better than last but making Felicity an Oracle knockoff almost got me to stop watching
        9. Super Girl

God there is a lot of Comic Book TV shows.

        1. see I count the comic shows two ways BROADCAST TV and then Netflix

          BROADCAST:

          #1 Flash
          #2 Legends
#3 Supergirl (it’s been very innovative adapting Supes storylines to fit her)
#4 Agent Carter (just love it!)
#5 Gotham (S2 has been so much better, but the slow start in airings here in the new year I’ve nearly forgotten about the show.)
#6 Arrow (I was digging S4 so much, and still optimistic about it, but yeah the Felici-Oracle BS ugh)

I’m not one to embrace NEW things to me right away… I’ve never had any experience with the Jessica Jones character so waiting a bit on watching that.

But DD omg yeah that’s the BEST marvel show hands down. (from what I’ve seen of the marvel shows) You’ll notice I left off Agents of Shit…. because I have never seen past ep 6 of S1 and have no desire to. So I obviously can’t rank it.

        2. That is crazy when you list them out like this. I would put them this way:

          1. Flash
          2. Daredevil
          3.Arrow
          4. Agents of SHIELD
          5. Supergirl
          6. Jessica Jones
          7. Legends of Tomorrow – I don’t like this nearly as much as anyone else.
          8. Gotam

I have not watched this season of Agent Carter.

          1. Wow Jessica Jones is way too low IMO. Don’t see how you can claim Super Girl or AOS is better than it.

Also Legends of Tomorrow got much worse the more it went on. I would probably rank it about the same as you now.

    2. I like it, but still have some issues with it. I find a lot of logic issues with each episode. Like in the second episode the reasoning for one of the characters to visit their past self was a weak for me. And Vandal Savage as a whole season villain isn’t really doing it for me. Not as compelling as a Purple Man or Kingpin or even Zoom for Flash.

          1. Jessica Jones is probably the most unique out of all the comic book shows. More of a crime thriller than a superhero show like the rest of them.

Did you watch Legends of Tomorrow?

Don’t really watch the others at this point.

  3. Of course Steve Rogers is coming back as Cap. Because people can’t just stay dead in comics, can they?

That being said, his new comic actually looks pretty good. The costume design is fantastic! I’m not quite sold on the new shield, though. If it’s shaped like that, how can Captain America throw his mighty shield? Sure, it’s effective up close, but there may be some Hydra soldier who stands before his shield from a distance who doesn’t yield!

Lastly, I haven’t had a ton of interest in the Sam Wilson Captain America title, but the description of it has me intrigued, and it’s going on my “To Read” list.

    1. The Sam Wilson Cap title has been hit or miss. It started off great but since the relaunch has been going down hill.

    2. You are the only person so far that I have seen that likes the new look. I don’t know what it is but it doesn’t look right. Something with the color scheme is off to me. It’s not the worse Cap uniform ever but I agree with I think Chuck who said I’d rather see something along the line of The Ultimates.

  5. Interesting tidbit I looked up: Dan mentioned in this episode that Rip Hunter appears to have been heavily influenced by Dr. Who but in fact, Rip predates the doctor by 4 years. Dr. Who debuted in 1963 while Mr Hunter made his first comic book appearance in 1959! As far as the TV version, yes have to agree. But not the character himself. See, I learn something every day.

      1. I can see that but it’s pretty obvious that is what they are going for. The ship design is very much along the same line and making Rip Hunter British and hiring a former companion for the role, they knew what they were doing. I don’t think it is a bad thing mind you. It gives Rip more character than he has in the comics. But that is no question what they were doing.

    1. LOL Yea. though I think they changed the character for the show. Like I don’t think he’s British if I’m not mistaken.

      1. Like I said I agree the TV version has taken some things from it. I just thought it was an interesting tidbit that he was time travelling well before the doctor.
