Talking In Circles – Episode 06 – Spaghettification

talkingincircles--featured

It is the end of the world as we know it and we feel fine, well depending on how we go out of course. This week’s discussion includes a debate on the coolest way for the world to end; zombies, asteroids, volcanoes, and even the infamous spaghettification are all discussed. The Guardians of the Galaxy trailer has been released and we love it, or do we? Some of us might not be as impressed as others. Also in our second segment we answer listener mail by counting down our all-time favorite TV shows and movies. This double sized episode is bursting podcast goodness for your listening pleasure!

  1. Thank you for responding to my email. I have a better sense of your taste now, and I think my tastes fall in the most in line with Greg. I too like B level movies and I’m a fan of Dr. Who and Sherlock. Great episode overall! Looking forward to hearing more of your favorite lists. Did you say you will be doing your favorite comic stories as well?

    1. Glad we could oblige, it was a great idea to let our tastes be known. And yes we will be doing our favorite comic stories possibly in the next few weeks.

  2. I must say I’m surprised you guys are only on episode six. You sound rather seasoned for only a few episodes. Since you were discussing the end of the world and your favorite movies I wanted to ask what are your favorite disaster movies? I’m s suck for classic cheesy 50’s movies like the Blob or even the Blob remake from the 80’s. I also want to see the Nukeagedon movie! That sounds hellaepic. Like an Aslyium movie but worse in the best way.

    1. That’s high praise! Much appreciated, Dan is our Yoda he has brought us into the fold quite nicely. I think we could mention disaster/50s movies in an episode. Everyone loves a good disaster flick. I would have to give it some thought but I think Armageddon would be a likely candidate for me. I also enjoy me some blob and I am hopefull for the new Godzilla trailer (which we may get into next ep)

    2. I am not really sure if you would consider it a disaster movie, but I really liked The Poseidon Adventure. The older version, not the new one. I also any of the cornier type of stuff too. I guess I will need to write Nukeagedon, that will take some time since I am trying to write other stuff.

  3. My preferred way for the world to eggs would have to be zombies with alien invasion a close second. I for one would welcome our intellectual overlords with open arms and do their biding. My least favorite would be whatever happened in The Road. God that was depressing.

    1. Thankfully I didn’t see The Road. I get depressed enough to begin with. Zombies and Aliens would be a cool way to go!

  4. Another fine episode guys. Love the clips especially the Home Improvement one. An all time favorite for me. I kind of see what Chuck is saying regarding the Guardians trailer, but the humor worked on me so I was fine with it. I can’t believe you guys had barely any crossover. That’s awesome though cause I always prefer podcasts that have people with varying tastes.

    1. We do have a lot of things in common but I think we were all surprised by the diversity within our top 5 picks. Like you said, makes it more interesting. And Home Improvement really is a classic isn’t it?

    2. If you look at the vein diagram of our friendship we do have a quite bit in common, but our tastes and interest do vary.

  5. CURMUDGEON! YEA! Thank you so much for working that in, twice. Fantastic. All of you had interesting lists. Definitely made me want to watch some of the shows/movies that you had on there. I am a big Harry Potter Fan but not for the movies. (Sorry Greg.) I know you said that you didn’t read the books, and I think this is true for a lot of book to movie movies, but the books are so much better. I highly recommend them. The audio form of the books are really, really well done too if you are looking for an easy way to digest them fast. I really connected with Greg, though, when you were wrapping thins up and you mentioned Duck Tails. Love that cartoon, especially The Duck Tails Movie, which I am sure that you have seen. All around great job. Keep it up.

    1. I seriously need to get on the book. I just have so many to read already. I tried to do an audio book once before, but i kept getting distracted while listening. I don’t think I ever finished listening to that either.

    2. Duck Tails. Nice. Classic. That Disney Afternoon lineup of the 90’s was legendary.
