Altered Geek Unleashed – 104 – Geeks, It’s An Awakening

AGU-POD-3

Steve is riding solo this week. This maybe a little odd of an episode with a 2-in-1 style. The first part is more polished talking #ForceFriday, Goku vs Street Fighter II, and more! In the 2nd part after the closing of the show it’s just like a regular show and was the original Episode 104 but due to some unforeseen circumstances it wasn’t good enough as is so I’ve placed it as a BONUS episode. It discusses Arrow, Marvel, The EDX Pop Culture Class, The Flash, Force Awakens and Civil War. Included in that is a concept for a future show for Prequels, Sequels, Trilogies and Franchise films that we’ll do with more hosts involved.

All this and more on this week’s AGU! We hope you continue to enjoy the episodes and please feel free to respond to any and all feedback methods. We will read and reply on the show. Topic suggestions also welcome. So get Altered, Get Geeky with the Altered Geeks.

  1. I went to a Toy R Us Force Friday opening. very disappointed. I got some of the stuff i wanted but they had hardly ANY stock, literally 7-10 of everything. and they never put the “ONE of everything for everybody” rule to stop people scooping up 5 of the same things, because the first through the door cleared out ALL the black series figures in 30 seconds. People were just scooping multiples into their carts.

Managed to get a Black Series Fin [which was hiding behind a shelf], one of those Kylo Ren armor up packs. and a ANH han solo black series

    1. Wow man that sucks on the Force Friday halls. I can’t understand how they wouldn’t do the one of everything much like they do for TV’s or XBOX units. Star Wars is only the biggest toy and collectable franchise of our generation. The Black Series does look spectacular though.

    2. As someone who has worked in retail I can tell you its not always the stores fault. Especially with events like this. You are going to get a limited run on supplies no matter what you do, and especially if you aren’t in a high volume location. With Disney owning Star Wars now this will only become more of a problem. Disney never matches supply with demand when it comes to action figures.

  3. 1. Depending on Timezone/record time would love to participate in a live show
    2. Super hero fatigue, since contracts are ending etc, I wonder if marvel will do the unthinkable and end their production after infinity war pt2. Shelf their characters and go silent for 10 years. By then do will be pumping crap out and fatigue will set in aimed squarely at dc.

    1. 1) I usually record on weeknights being I work all day and have two kids but I can be flexible the night for guests purposes. Typically the show is recorded around 10pm EST though.

      2) I think that would be more the route if it happens but I don’t despite my thoughts on it think either will back down.

      1. Yeah, and who would stop making the films when they are racking in money
And your 10pm is noon the next day here, easy done
