  1. This was a great finally for a great podcast!! 20 great episodes, I had a blast listing to all of them.

Oh, and as a Canadian it was pretty funny listing to the talk about boxing day. “Marry boxing day” lol Just to clear things up for Michael, Boxing day is every year on December 26 in Canada its not a real holiday it is our version of Black Friday in the States, just a day that all the stores have really big sales. The idea is that a lot of people return things they got for Christmas or cash in their gift certificates on that day…. now you know, and knowing is half the battle!! :)

  2. The lack of Prowl love makes me sad. Ahh well, more for me to love. Still, the podcast was interesting to listen to. Kudos for tackling all the episodes, merchandises, etc. Anything involving TFA – good or ill – is great in my book.

    1. I can understand why people see Prime as ‘meh’ so far but if you were to just take season 1 of Prime and stack it up against season 1 of Animated….its NOOOO contest that Prime was better. I agree that Prime needs to go somewhere good in season 2 if it even hopes to crack the top 3 of all-time TF shows but its far superior to anything Animated gave us!

      1. I actually enjoyed Season One in TFA very much. There is a greater epic, a greater combat choreography, a greater animation budget in Prime – no contest on that – but I don’t actually weigh in much of these factors (well, except animation because sometimes a really awfully designed show will irk ya; though I do love Animated’s unique attributes) on what makes a series good. To me, it’s about characters. Say what you will on the heavy cliche and the tropes TFA employs (which I agree on), but the greater focus on the main cast is what appealed to me immediately to TFA that I honestly feel TF Prime isn’t doing. Outside of Arcee and Starscream, most of the characters are bland and flat. If I’m bored of these guys, then why should I care about the story and what happens to them? To me, characters and story come first and in that regards, TFA’s first season had a much more straighter, focused structure.

It also doesn’t help that I feel TF Prime suffers from annoyingly cheesy dialogues and hamminess. It’s got that feel that they’re trying to be poignant, but comes off as corny with stilted dialogues (I am sorry for sounding blasphemous, but Optimus Prime’s fortune cookie wisdom is laughably narmy). TFA is no Shakespeare, but the flow and interaction with the cast is much more natural to me. Why yes, I did like “Nature Calls” because Bumblebee/Prowl’s chemistry and growth from each other is tremendous.

Although this isn’t to say TF Prime sucks or anything; it has immense potential and the current Season 2 episodes has been pretty slick, but even I found a key flaw that really makes me shake my head than I did on the beginning three episodes of TFA’s Season Two.

tl;dr: To me, it’s about character/story and TFA currently does it much better than TF Prime.

        1. Yeah explain what you think the flaw in Prime Season 2 is. We are only 4 episodes in, and they have paid off everything from the Season 1 finale. Plus they are starting a new storyline where we find out why BB doesn’t talk! Prime rules!!!!!

  3. The lack of Prowl love makes me sad. Ahh well, more for me to love. Still, the podcast was interesting to listen to. Kudos for tackling all the episodes, merchandises, etc. Anything involving TFA – good or ill – is great in my book.

About the only thing I’ll add is that I disagree with Kevin on Transformers Prime. I think that series is regrettably average and has none of the charm and appeal of the TFA cast (and Beast Wars, etc). I want Season 2 to change my mind, but so far, I honestly find it so…meh.
