  1. What did Kevin mean when he said I’m giving Raiders of the Lost Arc an 8.5 to leave room for the other ones? Do you mean you ratings for a movie is dependent upon other movies? Like you don’t want to give something a high score because something else might be better? That doesn’t make sense to me. A rating of a movie should be based on that movie not its relation to other movies.

    1. That wasn’t my legit reason for giving it an 8.5. Dan had made the comment that he would have rated it higher and on the fly I just tried to make some whimsical comment on why I didn’t rate it higher. My 8.5 rating is based solely on Raiders of the Lost Arc and honestly has nothing to do with the other Indy films or any other films. Sorry for the misunderstanding :)

      1. Would you consider Raiders of the lost arc a classic or one of the best Adventure movies ever? I’m interested cause I was wondering if you based your rating on genre or just one overall score. Like I can’t give this movie a 10 because it’s not as good as Citizen Kane or a movie like that so its only an 8. Or something like Die Hard is a 10 cause its one of the best action movies of all time even though its not like an award movie or anything.

        1. We have a whole segment on this in our next episode. It should be up tomorrow. If you still have questions after you listen I’ll be more than happy to go into more detail :)

    2. I will go on record to say 8.5 is still low for Raiders :). As one of the best Action Adventure movies of all time 9.5 or even perfect 10 for me.

      1. I’ll come better prepared with my scores from here on out. I wasn’t consulting my database for that one unfortunately. That being said, and we will see if I feel the same after this most recent re-watch, for some reason I’ve always like The Last Crusade the best prior to this

        1. Yea it’s like splitting hairs between those two for me. I give Raiders the slight edge cause I feel it has a slightly better balance of action and comedy, but both are embarrassment of riches.

  2. My movie that makes me cry might be obvious but the it is my go to and that’s Field of Dreams. The end of that movie gets me every time. Just thinking about it gets me worked up.

  3. You have to go with Toy Story 3 right? That ending packs a bunch. Movies based on tragic real stories too can cause me to shed a tear or two. Hotel Rwanda, Schneider’s List come to my mind.

    1. While the Toy Story movies (especially the third) are the most-mentioned movies when it comes to tearjerker animated films, Up will get me every time. It is a happy-cry as you see all the sweet moments with Carl and Ellie and then an ugly-cry as she dies, he’s alone, and he tries to live out her dream. Touching everytime

        1. Its in the first 10 minutes, and if you haven’t seen Up yet that’s on you. It’s in Darth Vader is Luke’s dad territory now.

          1. I was just being silly. It really doesn’t matter how common knowledge it is or how old it is really. In movie circles anytime you are going that in depth you should ‘spoiler tag’ it

    2. Which ending cause the ending with them going into the fire is the moment for me. When they start to hold hands an accept their fate.
