  1. Two movies I thought deserved to be mentioned are Unstoppable and Safe House. Both are old school type of action. Safe House is in the same category with the Bourne Series and Unstoppable is Tony Scott being Tony Scott.

  3. Some of the choices I have to question. True Grit, Django, Life of Pie don’t scream to me as action or adventure. They are more drama in my book. Good movies mind you, but that’s like calling Goodfellas is a comedy because it has a couple of jokes in it.

    1. See I actually like that cause it gives more variety. And how is Life of Pie not an adventure movie? Those aren’t movies I would go to per say but I have no problems with what was done. Ample reasoning was given.

      1. Thanks for the kind words and the defense sir! Obviously I’m in agreement with my stretch of the ‘genre’, hence why I brought it up myself in the record! I do like the variety we had though.

  4. I have to second the 13 Assassins call. I watched that fir the first time earlier this year and was amazed by that final action set piece. So well choreographed in every way. That’s how you handle an epic battle of that nature.

  7. Glad to see The Raid get mentions. That would be number one for me. Skyfall is another good call. Love that movie and can’t wait for Spectre. Now I have to see Jon Wick. I didn’t like the trailers but if its loved by you guys so much I have to check it out.

  8. My top five would be: 1. The Raid 2, 2. John Wick 3. Edge of Tomorrow 4. Skyfall 5. The Raid.
