  1. Awesome lists guys. Huge amount of variety between all three of you. Glad to see Life of Pie get a lot of love. I am surprised not to see movies like The Avengers, Pacific Rim, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes of The Apes, more represented than they were. For their genres I thought they were the top of their game. Also no love for Upstream Color or Blue is the Warmest Color. Here would be my list:

    12 Years a Slave

    Social Network

    Blue is the Warmest Color

    Dogtooth

    Shame

    Drive

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

    Black Swan

    Gloria

    Upstream Color

    1. If this was my personal favorite films, the planet of the apes films would be very high on my list!

    2. Blah, Upstream Color. I hated that movie so much. I loved Primer but that movie was so incoherent and had so much bad acting.

  2. Man there are a lot of movies you guys mentioned I have yet to see. I second the love from the Harry Potter series. If you watch the last movie parts back to back it is such a good movie. On par with the Lord of the Rings films. My would be:

    1. Inception
    2. Social Network
    3. Selma
    4. Foxcatcher
    5. The Avengers
    6. Nightcrawler
    7. Moonrise Kingdom
    8. 12 Years a Slave
    9. Winter Solider
    10. The King’s Speech

  3. No love for Argo for anyone? That movie has been unfairly forgotten. It deserves a honorable nomination at least.
