  1. I had no idea Silence of the Lambs came out in February. Then you when think about it, it makes sense. Manhunter was not super successful and it was about some of the same characters. Silence of the Lambs had a less known director and stars who weren’t quite as huge as they would become. Silence of the Lambs maybe one of the most surprisingly great films of all time.

    1. Anthony Hopkins and Jodi Foster where huge stars when Silence of the Lambs came out. Jodi Foster broke out in Taxi Driver a decade earlier and Hopkins was well known for many roles including The Elephant Man. Maybe people didn’t think it would be as good as it was but it wasn’t dumped in February because no one had faith in it. It was a very different time period then. The summer wasn’t has big as it is now and good movies came out year wide.
