I vote for Inception or Gravity for best science fiction of this decade so far. For fantasy? Geez I have no idea. Has there been fantasy films that much recently? I like the Hobbit movies enough but I feel they aren’t great.
I would put the Harry Potter movies as some of the better fantasy movies to come out this decade
Snow White and the Huntsman is not a bad fantasy movie. Looks great and Kristen Stewart hasn’t done better honestly. I also liked Dracula Untold last year.
Would you count Chronicle as Science Fiction? I really like that movie a great deal. Also how can you not love Gravity and Inception.
I enjoyed Inception more than Gravity. Honestly hated Gravity, too slow and boring for me. I do know the sci-fi spectacle in it and visual effects were great but the rest wasn’t enjoyable for me. Inception my only peeve and this is with any Nolan film is there is that uncertainty ending whenever he does something. I enjoy the definite endings not it could be this or this. (EX: TDKR, Prestige, Inception)
I heard people say bad things about Gravity, but boring is a first. it’s one big spectacle. It is crazy to me it could be too slow.
Well let me clarify haha. I don’t mean boring in the typical sense and probably should have worded it better. I don’t see it to be this spectacular film that everyone else does. First off it’s not my personal taste in film so that is one strike, 2nd I don’t typically like it when I watch a film where the cast is encased by themselves, similar to “Buried” or the like. It was a great use of special effects I will definitely give it that but the film felt slow to me. I enjoyed it yes but I expected more from it for what everyone was making it out to be. So maybe that left me disappointed and with this sour feeling while I watched it. I can honestly say that I did give it a shot and watched the whole thing and not trying to judge it based on a trailer or the opinions of others. I just didn’t enjoy it. For me it was a watch once and not own. Could also hurt it being I don’t care much for the cast either, whereas if it had been other people I may have stomached it better. Not saying who I think could have done different or who I’d have like to have seen but I just am not a fan of the two actors who showed up in it.
Gravity is great. I would put that up there for sure.
I like the movie games, but how are all those Pirate of The Caribbean in the Top 100. I get the first one but the second and third? That makes no sense.
