  1. If your other list episodes are as good as this one I’ll be a happy camper. I was so expecting everyone to have the same lists. Found out about a lot of movies I never heard of which is awesome. I think my list would be the most like Matt’s. We seem to have similar tastes. I also love fantasy, and you guys were asking what happened to it. Well the answer is it has gone to TV. Games of Thrones, Vikings, Spartacus, Once Upon A Time, Grim, and others have found a place with TV audiences. I think its because TV allows you to tell better fantasy stories. In movie form you have to simplify everything, cut out major elements, or make like 4 hour long movies like LOTR. But in TV you get like 13 episodes per season to tell a story. Personally I think its a good thing for fantasy.

    1. Yeah Fantasy is a TV thing nowadays… kinda sad really, but hey it’s thriving right?

    2. I was thinking the same thing regarding fantasy. TV is a much better spot for it nowadays.

    3. Thanks for the kind words! Hopefully we don’t disappoint with the future lists! Definitely looking forward to recording them!!

    4. That’s a good point regarding fantasy and TV. I didn’t think of that mostly because the only show I watched among the ones listed is Game of Thrones.

    1. Yea this is a slightly different idea overall though, So really didn’t think or consider that

  2. Glad to see Harry Potter and Pacific Rim get a lot of love. I might even rate Harry Potter higher than Lord of the Rings. Maybe. A lot of the movies I haven’t seen or heard of. Like what’s Upstream Color and Robot and Frank. Might have to check them out.

    1. I enjoy the Harry Potter movies but I would put LOTR in another league honestly. Now if you compare LOTR and The Hobbit Movies to the HP franchise you might have a better argument. Upstream Color is not a movie for everyone, but Robot and Frank is pretty accessible for the most part. You may want to check it out.

  3. The biggest surprise choice for me was Men in Black 3? That came out of left field. Don’t get how you can say rail against Gravity as everything that is wrong with Hollywood then say an unneeded sequel that even the actors aren’t invested in, for a franchise that has long overstayed its welcome is one of the best science fiction movies of the decade so far. I am glad Interstellar got a lot of love. I too feel that movie is unfairly crapped on by people.

  4. I am a little surprised that no one mentioned Dredd at all. It deserved a mention for sure. If you are talking about movies that made great use of 3D that is one of them. It is night and day compared to the Stallone one in the 90’s which is pathetically bad. Not surprised no one mentioned the Conan remake. I may be the only person who really liked that movie.

    1. It COULD be considered a comic book movie so maybe it will get mentioned in next months countdown…

  5. Nice! I love lists like this. Some astounding variety in these. Movies I did not expect to hear. Frozen! Good call on that one. I forget it would fit into fantasy. One of my favorite Fantasy films that was not mentioned is Beasts of the Southern Wild. Maybe you don’t consider that a fantasy but I do. If you haven’t seen it give it a watch.

    1. Technically Frozen, Brave and the like should have been saved for the “Animated List” so you might hear them mentioned again in a few months! Glad you like the show man! Especially since there’s 9 more lists like it coming this year!
