Cool episode. After listening to it checked out what you guys got going here. Neat stuff.
I believe Geek culture exploded not because of the new Star Wars movies. I think what really gotten going was two things. One of course the internet being easy to access
and faster. More people on the computer letting people meet similar people like themselves. Can’t also forget that computer knowledge began to have one huge benefit. You were able to download music. Now the computer geek you made fun of could get you something you like. For more the comic book stuff I think it was the Spider-Man movies first. They really exploded and came out at just the right time. Also the movies Sin City and 300. They let the general public know comic book movies are more than superheroes. And 300 was the first movie people pointed to saying Comic-Con made it a finical success. After 300 Comic Con became this huge Hollywood Event and not just people buying comics.
glad ya found us….. hope you check out more of our stuff. We have 5 years of content!!!
yeah Spidey made it explode, but Blade and X-Men also had huge followings.
