  1. I had Alex Forrest on my ballot D.J., I’m with you; I don’t know what happened there. 24 eighties characters and she didn’t show up, wow! And she’s way worst than Amy Dunne to me, all she did was run away from home. Didn’t boil any rabbits or nothing. I was shocked she wasn’t on there. And shocked by the lack…- well, not just femme fatale, but even among the female villains, there weren’t any villains, who,-eh, how would I put this, used their sexuality towards their advantage. Like, maybe you can count Cersei Lannister, but, I mean, with a comic book crowd, I would’ve at least thought Catwoman, you know, but some, use-sexuality-as-their-weapon types, would’ve been nice to see.

Also, the best “The Phantom of the Opera” is the old 1925 silent one with Lon Chaney. I had him on my ballot, reluctantly, admittedly, but he’s lasted several mediums. Book originally, opera, multiple films, musicals, interpretations, reimaginings…. and all of them somewhat successfully. It’s a bit interpretative on villainy, but murder by chandelier I’d argue is at least unique.

Anyway, good job on the wrap-up you guys.

I hope you do, put those results out there, outside of the podcast I’m curious to scroll through those names as well.

I want to throw out one last villain, you guys brought up the-eh, “Firefly” villain that’s never there, and it reminded me of The One-Armed Man from “The Fugitive”; I hope I wasn’t only one that voted for him, especially in the TV series, a lot of TV dramas we watch now, where we’re constantly seeking out the big bads at the end of a series or something, he was the first one of that ilk. That mysterious character that gets away and you have to find and whatnot. He was like, the first of those characters. Didn’t show up as a character much, but that haunting, mysterious aspect of him, where his impact is felt but the character himself isn’t there much. I hope I wasn’t the only one that thought about him.

  3. Another awesome countdown! There was so much variety with this top 100. Excellent work by everyone involved. I had hoped to be more involved in the discussion threads, so pardon my absence. I fell behind on listening to the shows, and I just now caught up. But, I am not complaining!

  5. Was very happy with this countdown overall. Going in honestly was ready for some fanboyism full of every comic book character ever. So was happy to see how many different types of characters made the list.
