  1. Another great podcast guys! Funny you are talking about the subtitle thing in this episode as I was talking about that on your Animated Movie. I don’t understand people who won’t watch a movie that is subtitled. It is just weird to me. Dubbing is sooo gross. It ruins movies. Like you all mentioned once you get into a movie you stop noticing the subtitles.

I consume movies in nearly every way. Mostly in the theater and streaming. I’ll occasionally buy something, but it has to be something I either want to view the special features, or something I can’t get any other way.

    1. I understand why some may not want to watch as movie with subtitles. It can be distracting for some people. Personally I don’t have an issue with it. I do realize it is not for everyone.

    2. I have to be in the right mood to watch a subtitled movie. It can be distracting.

  2. Carrie was somewhat blah, but Chloe Grace was one of the few girls who actually can act like a proper shunned outcast. She’s not to super model pretty to pull off the role. But yes the characters were all a little too crazy.

I tend to watch movies through streaming or on TV. I only go to theaters when I go with a group of my girls.

  3. Wow, I enjoyed Carrie much more then all of you. It was the ideal remake. It stayed true to the original but added a few cool twists. Who cares if the social media part has been used before, it doesn’t mean it can’t be used again.

I enjoy watching movies in the theater the most. That experience is 2nd to none. I couldn’t imagine trying to watch a movie on a phone. Just holding it would be uncomfortable. TV and computer are fine. But any screen smaller than a computer is too far for me.

  4. I can’t wait for Non Stop. I can’t get enough Liam Neeson kicking the crap out of bad guys. I tend to watch my movies via red box. At least when it comes to new releases.

    1. I enjoy Liam Neeson but I’m growing tired of his new action persona. I want to see him do some more dramatic stuff too.

      1. The due has earned this part of his career. If he wants to
make movies where he punches wolves in the face I’m all for it. I wish more
people would make fun movies like him.

        1. Regarding punching wolves I thought The Grey was actually a well-made movie and not a dumb adventure film. There was some deep thought put in that movie. The Grey for me falls under the category of a movie that is a lot better than it has any business being.

          1. I agree with this – I got to see this one before it hit theatres and I really enjoyed and appreciated it for the detail and time that was obviously invested. In its genre I feel that it is at the top of the list.

          2. Oh man The Grey was rad. A lot more serious than I was expecting. Also a lot better than I was expecting

          3. Not trying to start a flame war, but I was not a fan of The Grey. It was just too bleak for me.

          4. it was bleak.I dug that about it though. That and the character and the action set pieces.

  5. Awesome. HORROR TALK! Yay! Too bad the movie blew.

I consume movies like a junkie consumes candy on Halloween. I’ll take it any way and everyway I can get it.

  6. Another awesome podcast guys! Digging it more and more.

I would love to so JoGo as Ant-Man. I love that guy, and would love to see him take up the role of any superhero. Maybe Ant-Man is not the exact right role but it should work.

I too consume movies in a variety of ways. Though I could never watch a movie on my phone. That makes no sense to me. But Netflix, Redbox, theater, or whatever. I guess I prefer the theater depending on the movie. I’d enjoy the theater a lot more if people weren’t idiots.

    1. I’m a big fan of Joesph Gordon-Levitt I Just don’t see him having the edge needed for the character.

  7. I thought I was the only one that liked Runner, Runner. Glad I’m not alone! I even enjoyed Carrie. Not great. It did what it needed to do.

I’ll be honest and say I pirate a lot of my movies. I do go to the theater and rent, but money can be tight so I hit up torrents from time to time. Especially when there are multiple movies coming out within a few weeks.

  8. The Carrie remake you are talking about from 2001 was a TV movie, or direct to DVD movie. It did not go to theaters.

I read the Encyclopedia Brown books a ton as a kid. Like you mentioned in the episode a TV show would make more sense than a movie.

Interesting idea regarding the just good enough generation. I never thought of it that way, but it is true. I realize I do take convenience over quality. I own blu rays of movies but tend watch them on Netflix instead because it’s easier. So I guess I am part of it.

    1. Interesting. That was my bad then. I watched it on Netflix awhile back and didn’t realize it wasn’t a theater release.

  9. I have an extensive DVD/Blu Ray collection that I try to keep in pristine order. I love searching out for the best collector’s issues of my favorite movies. I especially love Blu Rays that come in collective packaging. Right now I can’t wait for the Breaking Bad series that will be coming in a barrel. If I can watch a movie in HD I try my best to. Looks matter. Especially for movies.

  10. I do everything I possibly can to watch a movie I want to see in the theater. Part of it is my need to be part of the online discussion. It took me awhile to sit down and watch Gravity and couldn’t stand not being able to talk about it with people when that was all they were talking about.

  11. I don’t watch movies in the theater that much any more. The hassle, the price, and the annoying people. I’d rather wait instead of spending $20 to spend time in a room of people I can’t stand

    1. Yes! Every time I go to the movies there is some jerk talking on their phone or texting. I end up missing the movie because I waste my time being mad at the person. So I agree with you 100%.

  12. Thanks again for the podcast! To quote McDonalds commercials, “I’ve been lovin it!” The casting of Ant-Man has be excited. I am still unsure if that movie can work. Something about that character doesn’t scream amazing movie. If they get someone like a Joesph Gordon Levitt or Paul Raud I might change my mind. Guardians of the Galaxy is still the one I am waiting for.

My personal favorite way to watch movies is streaming. I can pay 8 bucks a month and get an massive stash of movies that I can watch at the click of the button? Am I living in the future? Yes the quality may not be all the greatest. As you said in the podcast it is good enough for me.
