  1. I’m surprised neither of you had Transformers 4. Ok they are not fantastic film but they are at least fun to make. I must say I haven’t heard a great deal of the movies you all mentioned. I didn’t think 2014 had much going for it, but maybe I am wrong.

    1. Transformers just have never really interest me on any level. I don’t really get their appeal.

  2. Glad you checked out Short Term 12. That was one of my most favorite movies of last year. Such a powerful movie. Some of the movies I’m looking forward to that you didn’t mention are Nymphomaniac and whatever movie Terrence Malick is planning this year. Currently I don’t think it has a title, which is very much like him.

  3. I can’t wait for all the Marvel movies. Guardians of the Galaxy could be awesome, Captain America, and X-Men have me super hyped.

  4. Boyhood sounds like it could be amazing. I love the Before series so I am already sold.

  5. I can not wait for X-Men, the last Middle Earth Movie ever!, The Lego Movie looks sick as hell. We are actually getting Wonder Woman on the big screen. Kevin don’t be ashamed for having TMNT on your list. I think it could be good as well!

  6. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. Sooo many people are talking about 2015. That’s all people are talking about but the truth is 2014 is also pretty stacked. X-Men, Guardians, Capt, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Although the one movie I can’t wait for enough is Godzilla. That trailer was all sorts of tremendous. Epic as hell. .

    1. 2015 will be the most overrated thing people have talked about in such a long time. If you take Star Wars out of that year there is really not all that much to get excited about more than normal.

      1. Saying, ‘not including Star Wars’ is like saying minus being a millionaire you don’t have a lot of money.

        1. That’s true but as Kevin and I have pointed out we wonder if Star Wars will actually come out in 2015.

  7. I can’t wait for The Trip to Italy. The sequel to The Trip which I thought was hilarious. The Lobster from the director of Dogtooth, and Ex Machina.

    1. Good call! Forgot there was going to be a sequel to The Trip. That was a fun movie. Coogen is on fire lately.

  8. Muppets Most Wanted! Huge Muppets fan and the new one looks
awesome. Hope it is just as god as the last one they did.

  9. DId you guys hear about Kevin Smith’s new project about doing a Holiday Horror Anthology film? What are your thoughts. I think it could be cool.

I’m a big Smith fan and looking forward to his new movie this year Tusk. Sounds wicked weird but I’m down for it. Glad he’s getting back to his more comedic sense.

    1. What’s tusk about? I never even heard that was coming out. I thought he was working on that hockey movie and Clerks III?

        1. He announced it was going to be a TV series after Goon came out. I think that movie kind of stole his thunder.

    2. I stopped paying attention to Kevin Smith awhile ago. He just seems to like to announce stuff and has surrounded himself with nothing but yes men. Him and Sandler has some of the same issues. Good for them that they are doing things they love, but they have stopped challenging themselves to do something more than the norm.

      1. Agreed, Smith has become more of a celebratory than a talent. I’d rather he stick to podcasts than making movies.

        1. Kevin Smith is a one hit wonder. He’s been milking Clerks for twenty years now.

  10. So hard to pick just a few movies I’m looking forward to in 2014. It has to be Interstellar number one though. Nolan is a demigod at this point so anything he touches tends to turn to gold. Well, maybe not Dark Knight Rises, but it was still good! Inherent Vice has potential based on the cast list and Into the Woods that Kevin mentioned sounds like it could be fun as well.

    1. I agree Into the Woods does sound interesting. Honestly never heard of it until Kevin mentioned it.

  11. I’ve watched the Godzilla trailer a trillion times. Man that thing is epic. And Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Interstellar, Captain America, oh and of course Guardians of the Galaxy. That looks sooo fun.

  12. One movie that has not been mentioned was Whiplash that I want to see. It just won Sundance and stars Miles Teller who was amazing in The Spectacular Now. Also the Raid 2 looks like it could be better than the first one.

    1. for a min there I was gonna say wait MARVEL has a hidden film… LOL Rourke’s Whiplash might be able to pull his own film off… but now I know that isn’t what you are talking about.

  13. I am super looking forward to the last Hobbit movie. I think this is going to be the best one yet. Also the next Hunger Games movie has promise and I enjoy the Night of the Museum movies and they are coming out with number 3 this year. Doubt it’ll be amazing but I’ll see it.

  14. My Top 5 Movies for 2014: 5. Rise of the Planet of the Apes,
    4. Godzilla, 3. Boyhood, 2. X-Men, 1. Interstellar
